Hi Haupie,
Refer to below extract for a site called www.formgrids.co.za/news/
DERRECK DAVID FIRES AGENT
DERRECK DAVID FIRES AGENT Derreck David fired Jockey Agent Gary Soma
Via SMS that reads as follows:
I DO NOT NEED OTHER STABLES RIDES FROM NOW ON.
I AM THE NO. 1 RIDER FOR THE WOODRUFF STABLE AND
WILL BE DOING MY OWN RIDES FROM NOW ON AS I AM ONLY GOING TO
RIDE FOR THE WOODRUFF’S STABLE. I DO NOT NEED AN AGENT
ANYMORE.THANKS
Agent Gary Soma was recruited three months ago, when the Alexander stable fired David . “In the 3 months i worked for David, he earned R250 000-oo. I have been an agent for 15 years and have been treated with respect by every single trainer in the country and have a good working relationship with all trainers. I Have forwarded the above SMS to all trainers in the country ,and am placing on record that I am not acting for him anymore.
The SMS is a stark contrast to the SMS the agent received when the Alexander stable fired David. The SMS read as follows:
Gary , I am off all Alexander rides from now on. Please organize me rides. I am sorry about the trouble I caused but WE will have to work very hard from now on. Thanks.
My reply to the sacking was : NO PROBLEM, ALL THE BEST. SHOT
Gary Soma
So he was fired from the Alexander Stable, amnd now the Stable Jockey for the Woodruff Stable !!!

Must have made groot k@k ... and to lose out on the feature season on PJ :
... The Alexander yard is in poor form at present.. hopefully PJ gets some momentum going in the yard.

He is just a boy in the game.Let him mature. He is a really talented rider but is a bit empty upstairs.

david made a mess of it, by the look of things.
i have said it before and will say it agaiin often, i will rather back a loser than back fortune. so best of luck to the alexander yard

Very hard race to call; almost all of these are using this as a prep for bigger things - so impossible to know how tuned up they are - Exclaim & Exclude probably the safest option, although there must be some doubt if he can match these for class over this extended sprint? Rudra is very well in and has won over 1600 at this track, but is carded to race in steels - so probably will need the run quite badly - perhaps a pin can assist in finding the right one:S

You might be right Frodo that Exclaim and Exclude would have to be the PA horse.

Gents,
I know that PJ is not going to be wound up for this race and I know that 1450m is too short for him and I know that the Alexander stable is not doing great right now and I know, and I know and.......I know.......BUT, he is still the best horse in Gauteng, if not the country (in my opinion of course), and as you guys know there is NO substitute for class.
Will be a great race and I hope PJ shows them whats what today!
