Yip,we are expected to believe that the bigger a punter is,the more stupid he is.....unlikely,and as this has been going on for over a year now,he/she would have learnt or gone broke....we are treated like the idiots!

Found this in my inbox
As you may have seen on the Interbet thread(facebook) the manipulation of the betting pools was deliberate to bring about a larger pick 6 dividend
Gotham Prince is owned by a friend of mine and returned from a rest and back injury.
He had shown good work but clearly needed the run. He carried considerable condition in the paddock, was sweating up and drifted from 10 - 16 .
None of the owners had a strike on the horse and my mate had his customary R100 each way.
On the contrary Hedley did back his horse and the winner Perestroika and it was well fancied.
It was a successful attempt to dislodge Perestroika as tote favourite and thus take out the scratching which was coupled with Gotham Prince.
The bet was struck late and afforded punters no chance to take the value afforded by this bet on Perestroika.
Those are the facts. It was clear manipulation of the win pool to maximise a Pick 6 dividend.

Why not limit the amount wagered on a horse to win??????
Maybe the "overseas" punter knows which horse is going to win that particular race, he punts it early (big bet) causing it to be tote favourite until 3 mins to go then places a large bet on another horse to make it the "new" favourite & simultaneously his original bet on the "old" favourite is now paying more... he can take his "huge" loss on the "new" favourite as he collects bigger on the "old" favourite... right or wrong?????... can it happen???

That would be a huge gamble imo, why not just put all the geld on the books?

Agreed Greg.... one would be insane to back a horse on the tote to make it oay almost a quarter of what you would have got on the bookies. my hypothetical situation can be reality.

Hey guess what ? today is PE so the big overseas punter is rubbing his hands together in anticipation . IF the RA is right then we can all expect some strnge tote favs and he can expect to toss his cash away.PULL THE OTHER ONE.

What I don't understand is why back a 16/1 shot into favoritism, surely if you were running in the Pick 6 with the favorite and not the scratching you would back the second or third favorite into favorite and it would not cost you as much. This would explain Gotham Prince with the scratched horses Pick 6 tickets, but how do you explain Fort Curtis coming into favorite with no effect on the Pick 6?:S

You have to love the spin...
If the info provided to Hibs re the manipulation(and it certainly appears to fit the facts)then Vee Moodly was merely providing propaganda.
He points out that it is impossible to prove intent....no sh!t....see my post re this rule on NHA rules....how obvious was that?
Moodly also talks about bets from 'overseas'.......big place that!!!!!
If I want to manipulate a TF,as apparently happened here,I merely place the bet on Betfair tote, which co-mingles into Saftote.
Question? : why have the NHA not forced Saftote to suspend co-mingling due to the fact that bets can be placed from people and/or places that fall outside their area of authority?????
