Tote Favorite are they serious

Help is this a joke or did i swallow one to many today. Race 4 Fairview Waging War opened in the betting at 17/10 and drifted in the betting but still won paying i think R4.20 a win R1.30 a place Torcida split 2nd fav also drifted ran 3rd and paid R1.60 a place . Port Curtis opened 14/1 was supported a little ran 2nd and paid R4.20 a place and is then declared tote fav. What the #$% is this a joke. Please RA or anyone other than that joker in Aus who dumps his 50grand on a name he fancies please explain what is going on. NHA - P - or RA you are driving us straight to your opposition please wake up and tell us what the hell is going on .

This is just going from bad to worse, and there is nobody out there willing to answer any questions for us?

with garner and vee moodley in charge of betting and new tote bets what do you expect...the new all to come bet is an absolute disgrace and it should be reported to the national gambling board in the way punters are being ripped off ...imagine if you running in a pa and your horse gets scratched and you end up with a 16 to 1 shot running for you...

Pirates and Tommy and all others what is this ? Is this a circus or what ? The NHA are calling certain individuals to book for bringing the sport into disrepute yet this nonsense carries on without any logical explanation. Scotia perhaps you can get the relevant parties to explain and stop treating us like fools. COME ON RA AND MR DE KOCK AND WHOEVER ELSE GET YOUR BACKSIDES INTO GEAR YOU JOKERS.

Pirates, these boys are grasping at straws. They have been told (I'm sure) to increase turnover any way they can. The pools have been falling year on year and there is no end in sight. They are just going to force this down our throat just as they forced down the "Australian mystery man betting thousands on a horse just before the off".
If the RA cannot (will not) do anything then the punters must take matters into their own hands.
March, strike, toy-toy, stop punting, do what you guys must.........No group or association is going to take Phumelela or GC on as they cannot afford to bite the hand that feeds them. Hit them where it hurts......RIGHT IN THEIR POCKETS!!!
Time for revolution my friends. If a group of 400 punters show up at Phumelela headquarters (harrison street JNB or Turffontein) demanding to see the CEO/Garner/Moodley, can they afford not to let you in?
Just spitballing here. I'm a long way away so I guess it is easy for me to talk, but let me tell you, if I were there, no way do I sit idly by and watch this shit go down..................................
Hope somebody comes up with something quick because I love the SA racing industry too much to watch it come crashing down around itself!

how can the tote compete with bookies prices WHEN THEY TAKE 20 TO 25 PERCENT OUT OF THE WIN AND PLACE POOLS oN EVERY RACE...THE BOOKIES TAX YOU 6 PERCENT ON THE WHOLE BET WHEREAS 20 PERCENT COMES OUT OF EACH LEG OF YOUR ALL TO COME BET WITH THE TOTE..it is very clear that very little thought was given to this bet and no market research done...the biggest disgrace is the propaganda bullshit that comes out of every presenter regarding this bet ...daylight fucking robbery and shows thatb they have fuckall conscience and morals

Pirates , since when does gambling have anything to do with conscience and morals ?
I do agree with you though that this atc bet is really foolish and that these blokes did not think it out logicaly at all . Come on anybody with half a brain could've seen the negative effect of this atc bet on the pools .The sooner they scrap this bet the better .If the tote wants to succeed with this bet then they gotta scrap the bookmakers .
You see another angle looking at this bet is that the operators could've thought it clever to start this bet cause lets face it it is very difficult to catch an atc bet , so they pump this bet with ads showing how "lucrative" the return is continually thereby luring the average punter into taking 3 , 4 ,6 horses in an atc subconsciously thinking of the rich rewards . The problem is though that actually catching the bet does not happen too often therefore average punter does his tom over and over again without catching the atc regularly . A bit of a mind fuck ! Its there to lure the unsuspecting punter into rich payout .............till he catches it only to swallow that bitter pill at the end of it all .
Back to the last race at pe today ,
The tote false fav in the last ,i think by looking at the table below was not influenced by Atc bets . Somebody lumped on this one on the tote . However the movement was very strange with 7 min to go the no2 shortens from 7,4 to 6,5 then with zero mins to go some how it changes from 19,90 to 4,80. Someone cancelled their bets and then someone punted it very late . This is tote manipulation !

So, instead of getting better since discovering it was some foreigner playing lucky numbers with whale size bets, it has got worse?

I can assure the Clan that I have sent many mails on the subject of co-mingling, tote disrepancies, atc bet.
If we really consider we are highlight concerns from "their" customers we are not the enemy.
With over 950 unique visitors and 80,000 on hits on one day last week we have a fairly large part of the racing community visiting the site.
I would also guess some fairly large punters.
Plus its not like Munitoria the punters do have a choice.

Betting on the tote has become the same as playing the lottery. You can back a horse at 5/1 with the bookies and it could pay either R2.00 or R12.00. Yesterday I illistrated in the Fairview post the tote of Electifying at 33/1 paying R6.50 a win and Torcido Split at 33/10 paying R6.60 a win.
I play all my win and place bets with the bookies for the reason above. I do however enjoy playing a PA and Pick 6, whereby the tote favorite is vitally important to bring scratched horses through. Imagine last week at Greyville where Sharks Bay was a strong favorite on the books and there were two scratched horses coupled with fairly fancied runners. Most people instead of putting Shark's Bay will put the scratching in and get the coupling and the favorite, which you would be sure would be Shark's Bay. Now imagine Sharks' Bay wins like he did and some 7/1 shot was tote favorite. If this was the only I would be out I would be left with a very bad taste in my mouth.
Unfortunately the number of times we have mentioned these issues and nothing ever seems to change I feel it will fall on deaf ears again.

Baffling very baffling, they will probably blame this on some big punter having atc bets running...
