Still overcast but dry in Durban, going is likely to be soft I would think. A tough card, but Sharks Bay is classy and the coupling with Martial Eagle makes for a very nice P6 banker (doesn't help in the Jackpot, though!) Fernando Torres is going the right way, showing why they stuck with him when he had to have such a long lay-off after his first run, and looks the part in the third.
Askari loves Clairwood and could be well handicapped after getting zero penalty for winning his last start, where the second horse finished a very good second again in one of those Chapter Challenge races on Sunday, making the form look decent. I know nothing about any of the 2yos, but Gun Powder is the half brother and stable companion of Furious Dancer, who came out flying as an early 2yo last season and could be cut from the same cloth? I stress that I'm just guessing about this, though. Key Word has the form to go close in the ninth, but he hasn't run since May so we will have to wait and see.
PS Save a few pennies for J J on Sunday.....he said hopefully.

Agree with Magic wrt Gun Powder. He is owned by a relative and they have high hopes for him. Being a first timer he has not said much to me (he is sharp -maybe thinks I will steal the price?)
In addition to Magics fancies , Barts, Lune De Miele appeals to me. Duncan's horses are all well and expect them to run crackers.

On holiday from rugby until next February so thought I would have a whirl at racing last night.
Figueroa absolutely B-U-R-I-E-D me. Never raised a gallop, then slow away, then came too late and in last race beaten in the last 50 metres when looking a winner..........
Only profited in the stayers' race when my best result fought it out with my second choice.
So today I am having a go on Rapporteur - my kind of price and my kind of distance.
