This is what I have been told. Maybe "Barry on the beat" can tell us more and also what he made of her effort yesterday.

Barry did say she was going into quarantine. Brry does love the beat of his own drum. Hence "Barry on the beat"

Hi. Have changed my mind and will leave Ebony Flyer in South Africa and point for the Queen's Plate in 2012, when the purse will be $2 million U. S. A mile figures to be her trip, she should strengthen in a year's time and she should be better. She is still green, still immature even though she is big and frighteningly has more maturing and possibly growing to come!

We have no immediate plans, other than the Garden Province in Durban, with a prep beforehand.

She runs best fresh. Justin will freshen her up and point for Durban.

How do you figure 2 Cents?

Has she won a group 1 race outside of Cape Town? Has she won a big WFA contest yet? Has she beaten the boys yet? Has she beaten older fillies yet?

I think she is a super horse but I also believe she needs to still win a few more races to prove she is "at the top".

This is by no means a knock on her ability or her inherent future as an equine star, only my requirements to be fulfilled.

There was a thread on Saturday that caused some tension between myself and Pirates. I said that if EF wins on Saturday she is as good as Empress Club.............

That statement should sum it all up nicely.

Ebony Flyer thrashed Emerald Cove in the Odessa. EC has subsequently won the Paddock Stakes beating older fillies and mares.

Ebony Flyer beat Igugu in the Gr1 Guineas. Igugu beat her elders in the JHB Spring Challenge.

Ebony Flyer beat several high class colts and geldings in the Queen's Plate.

Imo its unnecessary and irrelevant for her to win a Gr1 out of her own province to 'be at the top'? Being at the top , for me, is competing at the highest level which in only a handful of starts she has already achieved, with success.
