"P" management

It is amazing that ,with all the recorded complaints about the service provided by "P" that nothing is done.
Last night, after the last race ,Tellytrack data room advised +- 65000 winning tickets, and a dividend of R13 on the PA,in spite of the fact that less than a third of that amount of tickets were even progressing to the last.
Tab-online did not post the last race result from Turfontein and it has still not been updated at the time of this post.

It is not this type of incidence,in isolation which is worrying. It is the continual failure of the same areas, therefore the same managers and therefore under the direction of the same directors who are clearly failing in their fiduciary duty.
We have been listening to to excuses for years, but this kind of incompetence does not come from a lack of knowledge,it is a result of a "couldn't give a stuff" attitude and if that can't be eliminated by management it is time for heads to roll.

P is similiar to state enterprises... to damn bladdy comfortable in the well paid jobs without giving a top-shelf service... incompetance is rife within the state departments & P is extremely similiar

Latest Cricket Recruit after Rod McCurdy , who's next ? Punter Ponting

Many of South Africa’s most talented jockeys, trainers and stipendiary stewards have pulled up stumps to head overseas, so the arrival of New Zealand racing enthusiast Ken Rutherford in South African horseracing is a breath of fresh air.

“Rudders’’, as he was nicknamed during his decade as an international cricketer, has taken the job as Media Executive for Phumelela Gold Enterprises, the joint venture between South African horseracing and tote betting operators Phumelela and Gold Circle. His portfolio is wide ranging and includes all aspects of Phumelela and Gold Circle’s public profile, with an initial emphasis on the industry’s dedicated horseracing television channels, Tellytrack and Racing International.

In only his sixth week on the job, he says: “I’m really positive about this. I know challenges are enormous, but that was part of the attraction. I’m looking forward to having a crack at something that has real meaning.’’

So what will stand him in good stead for arguably one of the most far-reaching jobs in a beleaguered industry? His life-long involvement in horseracing and intimate knowledge of all aspects of the sport? His experience dealing with the media as captain of the New Zealand cricket team and, in fact, being a member of the Press on the odd occasion since he hung up his bat? The astute managerial skills he learnt captaining cricket teams? His political savvy, gathered during his tenure as a cricket coach? Most likely it will be a combination of all of those attributes and more.

I expect "Rudders" to make a big difference ,having met him through common friends and he seems a 'no nonsense bloke. Those who played under his captaincy of Tvl, confirm this view.....I hope it's right as he is the last hope!

Nah. You blokes just operate under the faulty assumption that racing gives a shit about punters. It doesn't. Punters have no voice and they certainly never get a microphone. Racing thinks that owners are the only customer, not punters who feed the machine day and night.

Well he has been on the job for 6 weeks already (according to the article above); have you noticed a difference? Only thing I noticed is that they now stay with local racing if a race is imminent (and record the overseas stuff); not sure if that was a directive issued by 'Rudders', but at least something positive imo

No,but when discussing with the guys who played under him, they warned that he tends to take a good long look and then acts when he has a handle on things.Nothing wrong with that IMO....better than rash cock-ups.
The other aspect is, you can't expect him to get rid of any bad staff he inherited,in a hurry, with our labour procedures.

How much can you do in 6 weeks, coming in cold?
