please assist.....would betting on the championship be construed as a sports bet and hence no tax.
my bookie wants to charge me tax....i have backed both in the last month.....so who ever wins...i win R18 000....,so i normally settle on a tuesday.....and i asked him if we could settle yesterday....because the result is irrespective to me....and i see in the transfer done....he has taxed the bet.....is that correct??

hey ..u know what he didnt even talk about the tie...but ...i dont think there was a tie offered...but i would think the dead heat rules would apply.....but it would work out to much the same...because he would have to pay on both bets...but i think there might be a slight difference
because there were different amounts wagered on each doubles....lets hope there is no tie ...The first leg of the doubles were all sports related...so therefore i still would like to querry the 6% tax issue

27/07/2011 Kenilworth
Marcus adds another one to his tally at Kenilworth today by riding two winners to Delpech's one. The lead now at the top is three. With only four meetings left to decide this championship, both jockey's will be going all out to win it. Marcus seems to be cruising now with him getting better rides than Delpech. One can be certain that Delpech is wondering what went wrong along the way as he was miles ahead a few months ago and the championship looked wrapped up for him. Does he have what it takes to pull a rabbit out of the hat and breeze past Marcus in the next few days? Only time will tell. A very interesting few days ahead
Today
Delpech - 1
Marcus - 2
Jockey Log
Delpech = 222
Marcus = 225
Cheers
