Dept of trade and industry-gambling review
13 years 8 months ago
I see the results of the commision have been published, and I see some huge positives.
1)they accept that betting exchanges and totes are similar in that they are both "person to person"gambling, and not in conflict,in principle, with the current gambling act.
2)they recomend that the NHA should be an autonomous body regulating ALL parties
3)they identify a conflict of interest in the operators also controlling the tote.......halleluhah.
I guess that not everybody will agree with their findings, but I love a lot of them, and especially the 3 mentioned.

The dates for public hearings on the Gambling Review Commission's Report will take place
on 28 October and 2 November 2011 and not on 26 October 2011, Parliament’s Portfolio Committee
on Trade and Industry has announced.

seems like good news Rob - hopefully some exchanges can sponsor races here - maybe that would solve the lack of stakes problem.
