''WITH TEARS IN MY EYES''

Being a lover of horses all my life,i had a traumatic 2 weeks as i had to put down my 2 alsations as they were 14 and 17 years old.As a animal lover it was a ''tear jerking experience'' and believe me its the same as if you are unfortuanate enough to lose a horse in your career.It feels like a piece off your heart has been ripped out of you.Neverthe less its not for the feint hearted,and time will heal this experience.

Zoro, Heinrich's advice is good. I was heartbroken the last time I lost a dog and thought that the heart ache associated with pet ownership and loss is just not worth it. I was so upset that I even went to see a psychologist to help get over the loss. He said the pain is nothing to be ashamed of because you have lost a good friend, and after a few months I should get another dog and make another friend. I was not so sure at first. But then... low and behold, three months later I have two new dogs, and I LOVE them to bits. Their personalities are so different and they are afterall, mans best friends. My girlfriend does not watch race replays with me, the dogs do :)

H i Zoro , my friend........Keep on smiling...........:)

Comfort for a Friend

My friend I know you’re hurting
with sorrow deep and true;
I wish that there was something
I could do for you.

To simply say ~ I’m sorry
just doesn’t seem to be;
Enough to adequately express
my heartfelt sympathy.

Night has fallen on your heart
and cast a shadow long;
Your world now changed forever
because your beloved friend is gone.

You lost a family member
who was loved like all the rest;
A loyal, loving companion
who always gave his best.

But time will heal your broken heart
though it may take awhile;
Sweet memories will replace the loss
and you’ll think of him and smile.

He’s crossed the Rainbow Bridge, my friend
and will never be alone;
He’s carefree and contented now
in his new celestial home.

So sorry Zoro! It does tear one up. Love always does, but what's life without it?

The Power of the Dog
by
Rudyard Kipling

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passsion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart to a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But ... you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-term loan is as bad as a long--
So why in--Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?
