Stay as far away from Johannesburg as is humanly possible, apart from flying in and straight out again!!!
In Cape Town stay at the Twelve Apostles. One of the best hotels in the world and you will struggle to beat the view!!!
Kruger a must see but the Garden route is certainly more of an attraction for me! Pop in to the Garden Route Casino in Mossel Bay. I was part of the pre opening team there and am very proud of what the management team have achieved there!!
SA is a great place to visit!

Tommy - it seems that you miss SA. Just come back and all will be forgiven.

East, there is a reason I said it was a nice place to VISIT
Can never live there again, just don't trust that government will act in everyone's best interest, only their own.
No big deal, everyone makes their choices right?
Looking forward to owning a few horses there though. SA racing will always remain my first love!

Dave, you can't do better than PE and the Friendly Eastern Cape. We have racing, The Big 7, cause we have whales and sharks, (and dolphins) great sea and surf. Also the beautiful Garden Route just down the road.
Also our temps are more moderate, not as extreme as the rest of the country.
Always welcome to visit us at Fairview.......

Think about it for a minute
from all the above, we actually have a good country.
A mate of mine who emigrated to Australia around 1995 and came back to SA in 1999 once said to me that South Africa is the best country with business opportunities.

East, for every one hotel in SA I can give you 100 in the US, and that is by far not the nicest country in the world to live.
Each country has it's own special something, so does SA no doubt. For me it has never been about the sights and the opportunities, but rather the way the country is being run. not just government but the municipalities. They are like leaches......stripping the country from the core. No roads, no electricity, no infrastructure.
Anyway not the forum for my views.....I love SA with all my heart but I think there are opportunities elsewhere that look more attractive to me!
