Tickey Carr stole some beautiful races at Greyville, riding them to sleep and then stealing the march into the straight and holding on for all it was worth. Methinks that the Stipes shat out a good few jocks for allowing him to get away with these tactics. And sure enough, a few months later, he would do it again.
Brian Strydom, one of my favourite jocks, a most likeable guy and a gentleman of note. Took the time to greet me, a twelve year old younster, every time he saw me. Made a lasting impression.

was appy to Albie Going had a fall and was off for a year before relocating to Jhb rode for Greg Botten and then returned to the UK, sadly he was killed in an accident whilst on his way to visit family in Motherwell :(
