Wonby, thanks for this post. I have the same problem!! Exactly the same!!!
I generally structure my bet Banker / 2 horses / by about 5 or 6 horses / by the same 5 or 6 horses
i also need help.
I know a lot of people that put the field for 4th place......no matter what, but this becomes very expensive for me

Peekay, is it not better to catch 25-50% of a quartet with the field in the back THAN miss it cause you left out ?? ... I seldom take a full percentage bet in the quartet, would rather catch percentage than being greedy and leaving out horses and going OUT....
There are 3 ways I play quartets, all depends on what I fancy and how big the fields are...
Structure 1... Multi perm
Banker x my next top 3 selections x as many I like x field ....
Structure 2 ... Treble float
I have had good success with treble floating with 5 other horses... relatively inexpensive normally i take 25-50% (R30-R60)
Sometimes I will treble float with the field and take a smaller percentage....
Structure 3 ... Double float
It starts getting a little more expensive with this structure, double floating with 6 other horses .... 10-20% (R36 - R72) ...

Can you identify in which leg you are going out?

I double float with 4 horses cost me R6 for 5% or Tripple float with 3 cost me R7.20 for 10% or box 5 horses for R6 for 5%.
All depends on the days budget

Depends on the race and what I fancy. My quartet structures are similar to Greg 1 and 3.
I usually double floar 2 horses with either 5,6,7 horses depending on the field. Have a few nice priced horses in the "other" selection. I find this quite profitable especially if you catch a nice priced winner.

That formula is making me dizzy WB....(
)
I probably have tried that but rather I would rather stick to what I know best....

i bet max R15 on the quartet at a time.
So if i take banker / 3 horses / by F / F, then i will get 1 or 2% for my R15........that's why i don't play qrts that often.
