Had another 4mls overnight which they did not need and Kurt says they are going around checking now and will let me know any developements. Will let you know asap. They need plenty sun and wind to dry the 200mls or so they got since Saturday.

I tried to get an answer but the employees are not permitted to speak or participate in forums or anything like that. Therefore I got hold of an ex track manager and he said to me that there is no equipment available to dry out 83000sq mtrs of grass uniformly that would be safe for horses to gallop on. I asked him about cricket grounds and he said they averaged 10000sq mtrs and had a 85kg man running on it with spikes not a 470kg horse with no grippers and going 3x faster. Makes sense to me.

craig its the 21st century and racing is a multi billion rand industry so excuses like that in this day and age are not acceptable in my book but its the answer i expected thks a lot for enquiring ..we sent people to the moon 50 years ago but in this day and age nothing to help and assist dry out racetracks that clearly cannot handle rain

I have been tring to think what they use on any racetrack anywhere in the world but cannot think of anything. If anyone out there has some bright idea I will forward it on. No one likes losing meetings. One thing is it cannot leave the course with hugely different going in different places. It HAS to be uniform.

Follow horses drawn wide and who have more stamina if the going is soft or worse.

I think if it was just a certain section that could help but when you have to go around the course 3x it might not be the answer.
