Presvis is a law unto himself..He needs a fast pace, has to be held up and likes passing horses in the last 200 metres.
I didnt see the race but if it was slow early he would struggle. He is the type of horse to back in running,if they are spread out after
600 metres and going a lick he has a chance.
My pal used to work him at Cumanis and would only back him if there were 2 or 3 front runners in a race to take each other on..

I read in Racing Post that Bold Silvano got his tongue over the bit in the race.

I pur the load on Bold Silvano 2day, he will not get a cent of my money again..
2day showed that he is simply not as good as he was when winning the July..
If he ran a close 3rd/4th I'd say great prep4 the WC, but he finishd terribly no turn of foot noted,I was so sad 2 c this race

My opinion on a few things.......

MDK warned us that he was not hard on his horses and he was preparing them with the WC night in mind.

Bold Silvano has had a tough career. Coming back from an injury, 2nd run after a rest....He may improve on WC night but it will be hard for him.

I think Micdaam has won his race, going to be infinitely harder on WC night.

Soumillon is a plonker. Both rides on Musir and Mutahadee was pretty ordinary, even though I thought Musir would still need this run. He is a ready made pick for the Godolphin Mile and could be MDK's best on the night?

Mutahadee will probably go in the Duty Free. If Soumillon can ride properly maybe he has a small chance.

Good night for August Rush and Nocturnal Affair. They both ran well!!

Slow pace and lengthy lay-off must suggest he is worth another chance, As has already been pointed out, with that style of racing he needs a really hot pace up front and he didn't get that last night. As for Bold Silvano, I fear that MDK will need to pull off the biggest training miracle even of his career if he is to have a hope in the World Cup.

great night for h brown and mdk with there horses.carnival is getting tougher with better horses now coming from all over.bold silvano, irish flame and zanzamar just showed me again that our local bred distance horses are not in same class of uk and some other countries horses.on the other hand our sprinters are on par if not better than most, except maybe aussies,(who breed for speed) and the americans.

SA-bred horses have done well in these races before. One got to within an inch of winning the World Cup and beat all the European bred runners (the winner was bred in Brazil). All things considered, I can only reiterate what Barry Irwin has been quoted as saying before - given the means at their disposal, SA breeders do a fine job,

Super Saturday 2012 was a bit of a bust for SA-breds, although the two sprinters were far from disgraced in both finishing 3rd, but over the years their record is not half bad.
