175 nominations won't get you a race meeting!Never had few noms like that......we all know a lot of the big yards rest their top horses now after the cape season but word out there is that some trainers aren't happy with the program me and it's layout.....will be interesting to see what happens when we move back to Kenilworth but see 217 noms for that meeting so am not holding my breathe......full stables here all over so this trend is rather concerning!

I think it was Mr Mike Rattray who when he was Chairman here, only allowed trainers to have 40 boxes each as he said that then you would get more runners in races. A lot of trainers do not like putting a lot of their own horses to race each other unless it is a feature as some owners can funny in that they think it is worse to be beaten by your stable conpanion than a horse from another trainer. When you have a few really big yards things like today can happen. You need a broad base with plenty trainers.

Hi GB, I have not chatted to the track manager but if we dont get any rain overnight we should be ok. The problem I gather the pull up as per usual is the problem. It just does not get enough sun with the tote board one side and suites the other. I will keep in touch when I hear anything.

Cape Town (Durbanville, at least) needs to go back to doing draws after acceptances. For whatever reason it worked for them, and at times there were even reserve runners at the Country Course - which is unheard of using the "normal" system.

Off the topic but does anybody else feel that we should have friday night racing EVERY friday night weather permitting ?

Those of us trapped in a office all week tend to get withdrawal symptoms waiting for the weekend and then we got the warden to contend with!
