I was told that the "luck of the draw" system changed after a meeting with interested parties. Apparently someone had checked the figures and established that the draw after acceptances only contributed an increase of 1.5 runners per race.

ONLY! Fkcu me, if the average number of runners was 10, then the increase was 15%. Not only that, it is pretty much the tipping point between profit and loss. Will the idiot who thought +1.5 runner per race qualified as "only" please raise your hand.

To be honest, you can only blame the blokes at the top for this. Can they also raise their hands now...no, not hold out your hands!
