The team G setup allows you to decide how much you want to invest IMO it is the only way to go for a first time owner looking to put his feet in the water...

so i take it u've been in the owning ranks for quite a while...would u not agree that owning horses has evolved to an extent...i mean...trainers have to be more transparent these days..than the days gone by...even to the extent...of owners being able to check what the cost of a horse is...if it was bought directly from a farm...without being bullshitted

lets just say...we have 100 loyal members from this ABC SITE...EACH PREPARED to spend R1000/month on owning a horse/s...that gives us a R100 000 /MONTH....we find a resident trainer (there are a few)...and he trains for us...dont u think pirates that that will enhance the pride of being an owner....where do u see any shortfalls in this idea of ownership.....and the most important aspect at the moment...is to grow the customer base..thats the only way of being strong.....if jooste and van niekerk decide tommorrow to call off their racing side of business...the south african racing by and large would be in turmoil...oh...and add hassen adams in the mix....this cant be healthy state...but imagine we had 100 000 owners all contributing small amounts....all could not leave at once...creating a void...now thats healthy

hard question rj but if a trainer wants to make a buck out the sale im sure they will find a way to...why do you think you have been handled somewhere along the line?

off course i have been handled....by a certain indian trainer...who is no longer in training.....paid up to 5 times more than the original price..the only consolation ...yet to see someone line up a horse like he did...bulls eye just about every time he said FIRE

Now i think i got better advise, thank you guys ,also thank you for the pm messages, will contact you all .I know when my dad owned a horse called FULL NORTH trained by oom Nick Joubert ,he ran 2nd or 3rd in more than 10 races and the one time he had jeff lloyd up on a 1700m at the vaal and said....today you can put the money on,and he came from last and won by 3 lengths....The best day ever was when Rhys van Wyk rode my dad's horse North Rare 17 years ago in the 3rd race at gosforth park, rhys won the first 2 races and was on on a hattrick,my dad asked him if we had a chance against millfoil the favourite(beating my dads horse 7 times before)...rhys responded "i need to win"...and he did win start to finish and that was the first and only time i was alowed to lead my dads horse into the winners enclosure.....i know the feeling and want to feel that again.

maths... does not matter if you losing 1000 a month or 10000 a month - if the investment sucks and you not in it for the gas - what the hell are you doing????
I think all owners need to make a decision. Owning horses is NOT an investment. It it a pastime, that has awesome highs like leading in winners, but has gurantee or prospect of profit. If you hit the WOLF POWER then you the 0,001 percent else just go blow a couple grand each month and get the ladies to dress properly.

stay away from the partners if you can afford this because you will have the problems every body has different idea how the horse must perform and you will disagree with how the trainer work. every time i have partner in horse there is the drama at some time. no, go alone and have fun

flash...i disagree...whilst u may be right in that partnerships do not work for most...u will notice thats its the vague partnerships that were originally put together that normally collapse(same with any business)

partnerships that last are the ones that ask the hard questions at the start and set the ground rules at the very inception....many of partnerships that collapse usally have this "honeymoon effect at the start"...when friends get together....no one has the conviction to ask of another what happens if we have a fall out or dispute in say 6 months time....but if the rules were set out....initially...each one knows where they stand and these are the ones that ultimately work and are successful
