First time owner.....NEED HELP FROM THE EXPERTS

Im looking to buy racehorses....I would appreciate some help.
1)is it better to buy horses and be the sole owner or would it be better in partnerships?
2)What your opinion of syndicates?
3)Is it better to buy in with upfront payments or better like some trainers advertise to buy shares with no upfront payment but to pay monthly installments?
4)Is it better to lease horses especially colts/geldings ?Fillies have lot more value if successful racing career ends or if they have good bloodline

Any help or suggestions?

Stick with golf and put your winnings in certificates of deposit in a bank.

Partnership if you REALLY know the other partners(try to keep the trainer out of the deal as this can prevent you from moving the horse) -
Make up an agreement as to the dissolution of the partnership before you buy a hair on a horse(horses can turn the best of friends into jealous ex-wives)
Pay monthly .
Never leased but does save a great deal on start up costs.
Most important rule - be ready to lose money - if your first horse does win don't expect every other horse to do as well - Be realistic and get out of a horse if it shows nothing after a few runs -

Treat as fun and a hobby not investment.

Go into a syndicate and use a stable like Gavin Van Zyl, he has all the correct docs in place, you dont even have to know the other syndicate members.

....At last some fresh meat....,plenty hungry chaps looking to get into your pockets so beware....best is to practice....go through the motion of owning without the investment....like going to the driving range and seeing if you got the game to take to the course....no need to get to the course and shanking off the tee....if you are still keen and feel that you still want to play...I will arrange the rest of your 4 ball....people you may enjoy playing with

And how many horses do you own Marcus Muhti ...<

well for starters....we will not be asking Markus for shares in his many many horses.....and if you had the right advice in the beginning........ I certainly would have steered you away from that riding school Kabool.....:S

Dont mislead the author of this thread. Im sure if he wanted some gholfing advise the thread wud've read about gholfing.
