We're not talking about SA. We're talking about countries whose horses have shaped the breed the world over for centuries. Horses that cannot reproduce are excluded from the very best races precisely because those races are the stamping ground of the best future breeding stock. Igugu is more than welcome to contest such races, obviously.

Some posters can play down the breeding aspect as much as they like, but the reality doesn't change that big horses make small horses. >:D<

To the best of my knowledge, definitely the Guineas and Derby in all of England, France and Ireland (possibly Germany and Italy too, but I;m not sure), the Gr 1 2yo races in Europe like the Midle Park, Dewhurst, and Grand Critrium to name but a few, the King George, the Eclipse, and generally most of the Gr 1 races over middle distances in the major European countries. As far as I know, this ban does not exist anywhere outside of Europe.

Off-hand I can't remember the Sheikh's yellow-and-clue colours in France, but there's a first time for everything. We hardly saw Aiden O'Brien run horses in Dubai, but this year he descended on the World Cup meeting with a whole truck load of them.
