Champions Day where more than a 3rd of the horses entered come from 2 stables - everybody has an opinion - my thoughts:

R1: Troubled Waters to give the Tarry stable a good start to the day - at best this trip and on a line through Festival Spirit should hold the main danger Golden Crest
R2: After hearing Chesney van Zyl on USO, Franny looks very hard to oppose - imo Genuine Leather and Sea Shadow will fight oout second while according the MdK Umneeyatee needs more ground
R3: De Kock and Marcus and a horse that's unbeaten and according to MdK will be even better over the 1160 - so Soft Falling Rain obvious PA banker imo - value in the race could be Mogok's Desire to place; not sure about War Horse (may now need further) and the blinkers - Zestful needs more improvement to beat MD again - dark horse is Ziperana who could be anything
R4: Uptothemoon beat Jackodore before and is better off at the weights - good value imo; however the Tarry coupling has had 9 runs over this trip between them for 5 wins and 4 places - so both must be included in everything - Carey's Qui could surprise, but all of Control Freak, Welwitchia (better 1400) and Variometer (better 1000) are not ideally distance suited imo and Torra Bay faces much stronger here
R5: IF Val de Ra is fit and ready she will win; What a Winter to benefit if VdR is not 100% - imo Shea Shea's last win flatters him a bit and JJ needs a lot of improvement on his last run (and also now could prefer 1200)
R6: Who will stay the Derby trip - MdK says Silver Flyer will stay; if he's right then SF will be right there and the same applies to Pomodoro, E-Jet and Brook's Club; imo Zambucca will definitely stay and is good each way value at current odds - interesting jockey arrangement on Royal Becher, who could be the surprise package
R7: Apparently Seal is not going to go the front - so pace is going to be huge factor in this race - I think Bravura has the class, the right jock and is going to set his own pace and lead all the way - Dancewiththedevil needs a strong pace but could run on for 2nd; imo Europa Point is vulnerable over the 2000 while imo both Flirtation and English Garden have a few lenghts to find at these weights
R8: Who will stay the Oaks trip - Mdk very confident about Ilha Bela, and while she did come from far back in the Filles Classic, it does not automatically follow that she will see out the 2450 - still the one to beat, but the odds definitely a bit skinny imo - Kalami has an obvious chance and Avenue of Gold will at least see out the trip; Markofdistinction can't be ignored and the dark horse for me is Tresco
R9: A MdK benefit
R10; Gorongosa very hard to beat at these weights imo

ATC for me - Troubled Waters, Franny, Gorongoza

Enjoy (tu)

Thanks Frodo for your summary.

Obviously opinions will differ, But i have done the following during the week.

Doubles and trebles with

Soft Falling Rain
Ilha Bella
Atlantic Oak.

Backed Umneeyatee on the nose ( did not include in my ATC).
Gonna take some multiples with Gorongosa.
