@ Hibs, Harris - the longer intervals are there to accommodate the double rolling, tractors now circle twice.
@ Frodo - 1) The old Bell water tanker (massive) has been completely reconditioned - parts took forever to source.
2) Another water tanker has been purchased in the meantime and another is on order, awaiting delivery.
3) Now, BEFORE someone has a go about the amount of water being used, it's not about that, as much as about the time it takes to fill the tanker, hence the extra tankers.
4) Extra rollers have been ordered and are already being manufactured, to be attached behind the track conditioners, to facilitate only one circuit of the track, between races.
5) Until these are delivered, we will have 40 minute intervals between races.
6) Love or hate the Winter programme (May to September), it is already published. It is for Winter, for prep towards the Sand features. By spreading the load between Turf and Sand now, we would have to lose some Turf meets, in order to fit in the sand programme. As it stands, we have 19 Sand meets and 39 Turf meets in this programme. Our Turf meets at Vaal are full and we would then have to "steal" 19 "half"meets from Turff, to get through the Winter. So, I assure you, this has been looked at. It is just too complex.

Overall, the current 40 minute intervals are a necessary evil, whilst the rollers are being manufactured.

Here is my stab at a PA today......it's all i'm playing today, along with the win on Sweet Destiny in race 1

For what it's worth, I think perhaps the people on the programming commitee could have used a liitle more foresight in mixing up the races from the turf meetings into the sand meetings in such a way that the sand prep races were not affected - surely they were aware of the problems with the sand track before the program was put together.

Will just have to snooze a bit longer between races for now :

Hlamba - almost there, place chance.
Luxurious Jet - Working well. I havent worked her out yet. Trying to use her early speed today. She could earn.
Tiger's Eye - SH@T, would I love this race to be in 3 weeks time...! This horse loves the sand, works like a train on sand. But, my horses have been coming back from virus, and have been just short of a run. I have asked Piere to ride, simply based upon the 1000m vs 1200m feedback required. But, we dont have time to play games and as always, we race to win, come what may.

It's been a bit up and down, the last 3 months, but hopefully we can contribute more regularly here, as we regain our rhythm.

Most of our Owners have been fantastic through this virus and have trusted us throughout. To them, as always - THANK YOU !!!

@ Frodo - you not wrong at all. It's just the maths - 5 months, 19 meetings, some 160 races in the 5 months, building up to Emerald Day at end Sept..... Then we start the build up to Summer and Turf features etc. But, the better solution has been obtained - FIX THE TRACK - that's the GOOD part.
