Formgrids South Africa shuts down today

I live in the UK and I can tell u I will drastically reduce my betting on SA horsesracing.

Surely the racing authorities should be trying to promote the sport and provide punters with better customer service. How much can it cost to run the whole operation anyway?

This business about Internet connectivity is a load of bullshit. Plenty people have tablets and smartphones and formgrids is easily usable on these devices. I reckon there are many owners and leading figures in the racing community who use the service.

I would happily pay a subscription fee. David, could you give us punters an outline of running costs and what you're after?

That is just pathetic! The operaors in this country have no vision,I personally don't ever have a bet on overseas racing exept on dubai,formgrids is the best way to study form and now its a gonner..a very sad day for racing.

Wow, this is amazing. Everyone else in the industry must earn their own way, but Formgrids requires a handout.

There are so many ways to charge for the site. I would pay, so switching off without giving your users a heads up or an option to pay makes their excuses unacceptable to me.

Formgrids is playing the ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER card.....I hope they dont draw the OUT OF SIGHT - OUT OF MIND card, or the CALL YOUR BLUFF card.

JD believe me there is no bluff card being played...an overstretched work force now will be able to concentrate on UK cards with a lesser workload so all not doom and gloom

They obviously saw Formgrids as a threat rather than a tool for punters. It seems the powers that be are trying everything in this world to keep the punters in the dark. How can the Internet be a small percentage of the punting community? I would love to see the amount of money the bookies took ONLINE on July day to the amount that was taken on the Tab.

There is a whole queue of worthy cases for a handouts.....retired horses, spca, retiring racecourse staff of many years, battlers everywhere. Why is Formgrids not succeeding?

JD can you tell me why? if one is contributing to the Industry why would you see it as a "hand out"??

the operaters do not owe any body any thing. if formgrids is so important let the people who use it pay for it

Very strange and borderline juvenile way of going about things, just shut it down, no option to subscribe and they carry on with the international stuff.

Sure there is probably more to the story.

One thing is for sure the lads who love to bash their keyboards and moan about racing administrators are gonna have a field day

david has been on this site several times explaining his reasons for not charging and also that the day will come when he will have to close it down..what do you want him to do give us 3 mths notice?the only juveniles are the operators who cannot see the bigger picture but hey nobody is surprized at that
