Phenomenal achievement, thought Phelps had it in the bag with 20 to go but Chad wouldnt surrender. Ala Ernie Chad never gave up and said he felt he could do something magical. SA is riding the crest of a wave at the moment. Let's hope this spurs the other athletes onto greater heights.

From a punting perspective Chad was 20-1 prior to the semi and 12-1 sp. Phelps was 7-10. Ridiculous prices considering Phelps was struggling in the heats and Chad had the 2nd fastest time.

Cameron, Chad, his father and Ernie epitomise the salt of the earth nature of South Africans, a great advert for our country.
