Meissa....how good is this horse?

Hi Clan,
I would like to know how good you guys think this horse is.
Has won three in a row now and I just watched the replay and heard the commentator say something about Summer cup.lol.
I looked at form,and Meissa has not beaten anything spectacular? Does anyone know or heard of anything about how good this one really is? Won very well on Saturday,I must admit

Yes Flash Harry, I agree, because it looks a decent horse-but I don't think he can beat horses like Pomodoro,etc in the Summer cup

There are other races needed to be run/won before he runs in the summer cup but the summer cup trip will suit him!!

hibs i agree but let him beat the better horse in the other race first

agree with Lucky - look at its previous start before its last win it was hard pressed against WHAT - the blind school - for me nowhere near top class

I will bet my last cent that this one won't win a grade 1 race

You guys may be right about him not being top class but I beg you to remember that he ran just off that bomb of Gavin van Zyl, Eton Square, (who may I remind you ran 4th in the July in only his 5th start I think?) in his debut running green as grass. He is a super looking specimen and will appreciate going extra.

I, too would like to see it winning against stronger but I think there is more in the tank.

Should Clyde have said anything about the Summer Cup? Probably not but he also said "possibly" the Summer Cup next. He didn't state it as fact?

Sure Tommy let's give him his chance and maybe we are wrong about him. A few years back there was a horse called Hoeberg that won I think 6 races in a row impressively before going for the july and guess what? Yes it run downfield. But yes let him prove us wrong and I do think he will win more races but not graded.

Hoeberg was a filly and I believe she won the Fillies Guineas (G1) of her 3 year old career???

She was real good, out of Maroof I think owned by the late Laurie Jaffee??

Not sure you can compare the two. I think Hoeberg was a miler maximum and didn't get the July distance??

Meissa will run 10 furlongs with ease, no doubt.

David Payne did well with Hoeberg though!
