I think it's fair to say no matter what we do in life, we all don't have the same ability, some are better than others, and jockeys are not exempt from this fact of life. No disrespect intended, take the Baracah, Brooks Club race at Turfontein on Saturday and i'm not talking from my pocket, didn't have a bet in that race.

Have to laugh at some of this. Chippy being a good example, hardly his fault you can't spot his winners... for starters he is normally on big outsiders so you would have to be "a complete idiot" to be on < I would rather Chippy on a lot of these outsiders than others. I reckon his return rate must be pretty good given the odds of his rides..

Poor jocks... any of them - and there seems to be quite a few candidates - who ride in the Cape Town area and always dive for the inside rail irrespective of the position they are in or the horse they are on. Clueless. I was not a fan of Karl N but have noticed he is one in that region who, it seems to me, rides with a little more intelligence and is more than happy riding off the rail sometimes.

Im surprised Karl Neisius doesn't get a mention considering the slating he normally takes, but here is an interesting stat for those "Karl Bashers"

Saturday 6 October saw Karl Neisius reach another milestone in his already illustrious career - 20,000 rides in races. Fittingly he had 2 winners on the day. Over 3000 winners from those 20,000 rides a remarkable strike rate of over 15.5 percent ! (tu)

Titch you seem to forget a few years ago that Karl failed to weigh in Greyville, a Gold Cup day, after the last race because he said that the crowd was hurling abuse at him. The horse he ran second on was favourite and backed to the hilt in Cape Town, how strange, the result is that his mount was then declared a non runner........ I am not speculating just stating the facts, everyone else can draw their own conclusions.

By the way, I dont back Karl but i like to take exotics & like any punter you are foolish to leave any horse you fancy out of a P6 or PA because of the jockey....

.....when are we going to see someone post something truthful like-........I don't care who I put my money on....I am a degenerate gambler and I need help..........I have heard countless okes slagging off.... Karl, Manne, Bad Fradd, Uys to name a few .....but sing their praises when they get one home....a race horse gambler never want's go admit they have a problem with gambling.....they just have a problem with losing.....:S

Shyte the stats speak for themselves......if you have a jock that has an incredable strike rate of 33% win/runs but average odds of his mounts is 33/10 or less you not going to win.....you going to lose less.....:S
