magi iv never met a punter who punts to lose...the reasons these people give for either cutting limits or closing accounts are to be seen to be believed..surely there should be some sort of legislation against it...if punters could stick together for one month then the powers that be whether phum gc or the bookies would have to improve our lot...but at the moment all of them dont give a rats aarse

Part of my job is to control liabilities , I don't understand why some bookies refuse bets when they have traders that can control liabilities by getting rid of them

Absolute disgrace ! Surely when a bookmakers licence is granted there are rules which apply ? How the FARK can someone expect to operate as a bookmaker without accepting the risk factor that must go with it. Surely there should be a reasonable minimum mandatory figure which a licenced bookmaker MUST accept for a bet. Is there no controlling body which enforces bookmaking behaviour ? It seems like such kak that a bookmaker can call the shots to this extent. [ or have I over simplified it through ignorance ] ??

@magi:

'Pirates ... just ONE month of not a single bookie bet will cure the malady.... GUARANTEED.... {humming the tune} United we stand, divided we fall......'

It's going on 2 weeks haven't had a bet on principle; bring back the bookie site by hook or crook..... don't mislead us that we can go there or here!
They make enough out of us (as per the CC revelations), so why can't they pay for the running of such a site?

Take! Take! Take!

I paid in what I presumed I owed Marshalls and asked for confirmation that my account is settled, after which they must close it......not a word! That's the tnx for loyalty!

They still sending me promo emails!

Can't we get some consensus here to stop punting for at least a week; whether on the tote or with bookies?

I see there is no dialogue from Sportingbet, they must look at this forum on a daily basis...
I would like an answer, instead of the usual "It's a trading decision”

Dave, I must have written to Sportingbet 20 times asking for clarification and reasons. I really don't understand why (and I mean I really don't understand why) they restricted me in the first place. I am pretty sure I had lost money to them rather than win from them off. They will not even allow me to bet 50 pence on a 33/1 shot, on a 2/1 shot yes, wow!!!! If they answer at all, it is always the same, trader decision and they don't have to say why. What a load of bollox. There is no service, no consideration, no nothing. They say they review it but if they review it then I really don't understand how they always say, the traders think the restrictions are correct!??! Why, where was the liability? What did I do that was so wrong etc etc? Get a separate thread (sub-section) for each bookie and each time they fark someone over, put it on that thread and publicise the fact it is there. Then, start shouting in the same way in the UK, you must have contacts where similar sites can be found. And then, when enough people know everyone stops for the month or whatever.

BOOKIES ARE ALSO GREEDY ..thats my opening line

i must say...my boet has won over a million with a certain bookie during october...mostly sports and about a 100 on the us elections...all doubles into the elections....so early this month he wasn't happy about the price he was quoted for a certain event ...so in his haste he told the bookie to close his account totally..
so the bookie knows me ,because i introduced my boet to this bookie and asked me to have a word to my boet about closing the account..and this is what was said: and i quote"ITS CERTAINLY NOT IN OUR INTEREST NOW,TO LOSE ......(NAME MENTIONED),NOW ESPECIALLY AS WE HAVE ALREADY PAID HIM OUT SO MUCH,SO HAVE A CHAT WITH HIM AND MAKE HIM UNDERSTAND THAT THE CLERKS ON DUTY THAT DAY COULD NOT HAVE LAID HIM THAT PRICE WITHOUT MANAGEMENTS CONSENT ,BUT AFTER A MEETING WAS HELD,THEY HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO CALL MANAGEMENT.....NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS"..

IT THEN MADE ME REALISE HOW BOOKIES THINK....THAT MONEY LOST TO A PUNTER MUST BE RECOUPED...but what doesn't make sense is why do u limit the punter...'cos after all these years and swings and round abouts..its obvious who the real winners are(the bookies surely)...so i think these bookies who limit bets actually need their business visions re-examined...because if anything i would increase the limits of a punter who is winning...get it back quicker if history is to be believed

When i am telling "normal people", that u cannot win with bookies... they simply do not believe this...

because this is a "all-in-one" mafia with the government. all they (bookoes and government) want, is the money of the average people and not to disturbe the industry.

a winning punter is the last, they need. they need the average useful "idiot", who hopes for some cents and looses pounds.

if u ask me, it is a shame, a real shame, that all these bookies are allowed to make advertisments, EVEN ON THE RACES!!!
thats a bloody joke.

i cannot believe, that in a country (uk), where everybody is punting, this is not more published.

p.s. for some reasons, in germany we still have old fashioned, "good" bookies. but there are signs, that they start the uk-politics also
