@Gavinv:
'Like I said, Tara has just been through a strike, it commenced on Wednesday morning at 6am'
If I may; what was the strike for? Was it only her stable or affected others?
Why was that not posted earlier so that the racing public would have been wary of her horses?
Or, is that not relevant...... information that we all so religiously demand of others on TellyTrack, etc?

GB we give them 3weeks paid leave at Summerveld and an extra week to get back which is an extra from our side to help them get back to work as we nearly always get complaints that they could not get back after 3 weeks because of "transport problems'. They do not have to take that but if they do we do not take action on it.

@Craig Eudey:
Admire your transparency and endorse that Summerveld is a glowing example. I believe the same apllies with most traners ar Randjies.
@Zietsman Oosthuizen:
You bark like a deranged dog after listening to one side?
Why were the grooms on strike in the first instance? Answer that..... then moralise or damn!
Why don't you get so uptight when others make heartless comments?
Who the f... are you also?

@Zietsman Oosthiuizen:
FYI:
Simoto has no contact whatsoever with E Cape grooms so, who is this someone 'I feel it's just a start of many more to come some one is stirring the pot' according to GavinV?
Sure it wasn't Malema stirring the pot? Why tell us if you about the strike and make it seem as if there's a national conspiracy and blame it on Simoto or unnamed person/s? Is that being responsible? Not bringing the industry into disrepute?
Strange that trainers in Gauteng want to speak to Simoto (and some have even phoned him!)?

All of Tara's runners have been prepared to the best of our ability, no horse has gone un prepped, Tara's horses come first in her life, her staff are the (to our knowledge) one of the highest paid employees in the Eastern Cape, with bonus incentives, they get two weeks paid leave a year, every second Wednesday afternoon off and every second weekend off.
Tara's employees do not call her Tara, Madam or Mam, they call her Mummy.
It has been a very trying week for all concerned, but no runners were scratched, and like I said they have all been prepped to the very best of our ability and have been in full training with the help of myself and local jockeys.

@Gavinv:
'one of the highest paid employees in the Eastern Cape, with bonus incentives, they get two weeks paid leave a year, every '
Great to hear that. However, you came onto this site on the alleged grooms strike (which has no credible basis or reason) and linked it (covertly) with that of Tara's; nobody asked you to reveal that and none would have been wiser. However, based on that, I am, like anyone else, entitled to my opinion.
Now, Zietsman takes off at a tangent and starts berating me without knowing what the situation was; is that fair?
You also called for trainers to stand together; why not extend the same right to grooms.... or others?
Therefore, it will be most appropriate for you to do the right thing; why did the grooms go on strike in the first place without notice (as is evident from your posting)?
I am certain that there are trainers and owners who would want to be au fait so that, if faced with a similar situation, they would know how to rspond /react.
