After the lord mayors procession ...the shitshovellers

After last weeks big meeting how many of those non-regular attendees will be back this weekend for the bread an butter racing. To me, that will be the measure of success of marketing racing. Last weeks event was marketed as an event and was reasonably successful based on attendance estimates but should not be used as a proxy for racing generally.

G I agree 100%, there is far too much money being spent on searching for the "new blood" who are more interested in the party than punting and way too little spent on existing customers that are in fact the life blood of the industry, look after the people that support the game day in and day out they are the ambassadors for the sport and happy clients could bring in more players who will not be there for the free drinks and flashing lights at the odd "big" meeting never to be seen again, sadly as it stands the general consensus is that we would be doing our mates a disservice by getting them to partake in racing and that can only be rectified by taking better care of your die hard customers..

As a punter thanks to Sportingbet for the lekker Springbok jacket i won this week, yes it was only a jacket but it made me feel warm and fuzzy and to Hollywood for another 15% Bonus promotion... Why not phone the marketing manager of phumelela and ask him Titch? and why you about it find out what there long term strategy is to promote horseracing...

If he's any kind of marketing Manager he would have done the survey himself Greg(I'm sure you know this).
The strategy is to take a salary until something better comes along

but on a serious note it becomes impossible to defend the indefensible, my suggestion that all dormant account holders should be contacted and a R50 reactivation voucher should be credited to all those accounts was scoffed at,I will still continue to boycott the Open Bet and remain a tote supporter but unless the powers that be wake up and smell the roses the downhill trend will not only continue but accelerate ....

titch my account has been dormant for years and not even a phone call...there are many ways of increasing tote turnover but the powers that be couldnt give a shit..they come to work to go home and will not engage with outsiders like myself as they see this as threat to their cushy jobs ...the marketing and promotion of the new jackpot bet says it all what a joke...anyway fcuk them all
