I think the Grey in the first should win. To be or notobe offspring seem to like the sand well enough?

I like Dragon Fey for two reasons today....1 he is by fort wood and they love the sand and 2, even at draw 11 he is still drawn better than most of the fancies.

Don't leave out Roman Warrior

Brooks Club gets his absolute last chance today....Tap Tap will make the pace and I think Brooks club, if traveling on the sand, will be just in behind and hopefully run him down......

Happy punting boys!!!

my opinion
.....i love roman warrior's chances....beaten henry higgins previously on sand, have a jock back on that knows him best....check tomorrow you will see its also the best eachway selection i gave for tellytrack blitz

tap tap have too much pace and speed for brooks club although brooks club(dropped 18 points in last 4 months on MR) will (on breeding) like the sand......he will slot in behind tap tap but strydom will pull the trigger early in the straight and outgun him like he did with e-jet against brooks club.......speed is the thing he will lack to match tap tap makhatini especially over 1600m......maybe he can try over 1800m or 2000m where stamina plays more part than speed but no chance over 1600m against tap tap

Only thing that concerns me over Tap Tap is the fields he has been competing against have been very weak. This is quite a step up in class for him. He will need to be quite good imo to only get 3KG's from Brooks club who was once rated a very short time ago mind you a whopping 106 on grass and also ran his best races over the 1600m.....

there is no value for me in Tap Tap at 15/10 or whatever he is priced up now......

I'm not trying to put you off Tap Tap I'm just saying that this is the big boy league now.....he will have to step up at least 4 pounds on anything he has shown to date to win this......

He may be good enough though, he did however take quite a while to win his maiden, but then again brooks club has taken quite a while to win his second race....:D

Happy punting buddy!

I like the way Zietsman and Tommy think! ROMAN WARRIOR seems best value on the day! He is unreliable though! In form trainer (luchelle Kruger) top jockey... (Doctor) and the family of roman is also in form, his half brother Nitro Nori in Durban has won 3 and placed 5 times in his last 10 starts, his half sister Fanzene has had 2 runs and 2 wins for luchelle beating top horses like kalaam and three nations. And one cannot forget their other sister, Miss Turbulence! She was a classy mare on her day! This is a family of runners, and it is said that his work at home is better on the sand! It is a bit weird that he has had 53 runs in total for 4 wins and 13 places and only 8 of those runs have been on sand, for 5 places! So let's see! ;-)

Although Roman Warrior is my selection for the day, I think swingers and exactas with Pemba and Henry Higgins would be a good way to go! Not an easy race and Sand racing can be tough!

Race 6: 4 Smart Girl (trying 1450m on the sand for the first time, she might enjoy it)

And a little roughie. Race 7: 10. Karoo Queen. ( hey, you never know:D first time this course, and her dam is a half sister to Fashion Edition ( dam of Fanzene, Roman Warrior, Nitro Nori, and Miss Turbulence :p. she might enjoy the sand, not sure about the distance though)

I'll go on forever! Happy punting people!!!

Kalurooz Jet MR70 (Best MR 84 - Five-year-old) is a "classy sort" according to Julie on First Call! If this horse is class then I don't know.

Some early thoughts:

I also like Roman Warrior, but there is not a lot between him and Henry Higgins in their runs behind Tilman.

The 'lengths behind' from Formgrids that Ziets has shown really makes good reading for Tap Tap - looks to have plenty to spare over Masai Warrior at the weights today - for me I'd rather watch how both Main Dane and Brooks Club perform on the sand - so for the trifectas and quartets I'd rather forgive New York for his poor last run.

In the 6th I like Shattered Image to give Cherry on the Cake a run for her money; I think that perhaps the 1450 on the sand is just a touch far for Smart Girl and one can't ignore Classic Illusion as Kahal's mostly love the sand.

The other races - bar the 2nd where Inn on the Square obviously stands out (again) - are very tough and I will be loading up in the PA.

Enjoy (tu)
