Tried not to respond to anything here but for farksake guys. . .let it go ! I am in Ruby's camp here. Charity begins at home, pestering people for information is out of line, puts them on the spot and if they are wrong they are arseholes.

@Titch:
'...pestering people for
> information is out of line,...'
Yep, I also find some customers pretty intrusive with my business; they want to know what equipment I have, what I paid, where to source stocks, try to speak to my staff, etc (even canvass customers in my shop... the nerve!), etc.
That's people in all walks of life (like asking the butcher if it's genuine beef or donkey meat mix? Lol!)!
Whether I tell them or not.... I never ask / consider 'what's in it for me?'
Is that the difference in RubyClipper's moan?

Very well put Titch. People must also realise, as has been previously mentioned, an assistant is not necessarily at libert to divulge stable info. .

You guys take that too literally.... she was clearly at wits end with people ad nauseum asking for information ...... so she asked the question. WHY ? Why should she give information with no positive outcomes for herelf, but potential for negative.... is a losing proposition actually.

General stable info should be made public such as injuries, innoculations, fitness after layoff etc. Harassing a stable assissant to find out if a horse will win or not is out of order

Why would anyone want to ask a stable assistant what they like anyway.
They are stable assistants for a reason.

Einstein some stable assistants know more than anyone else in the stable... Looking for inside info from any one connected to racing has been around forever and will not change , ask family of trainers ,jocks and assistant trainers...:S

yeah, point is, if there was a system whereby relevant info could be harvested and made available on a consistent basis, punters would be satisfied, and there would be no need/reason to badger stable staff. It is not that they don't want to share the info - more that there is a lack of system which facilitates the flow of such info? onus on racing operators then?
