If this rule did not exist, how many kimberley trainers would there be left?
The answer is 3 or 4
So its not really a rule for the benefit of kimberley racing rather for the protection of mediocrity

"Horse racing is an ancient sport. Its origins date back to about 4500 BC among the nomadic tribesmen of Central Asia (who first domesticated the horse)"

The above is the basis of what we ALL strive for, wether we punters or owners, its about getting our horse/selection to win. This means that breeding and training and riding etc have for 1000's of years seeked the BEST. It appears that Kimberley protects the weak for the sake of " full cards " on a Monday.

It should be open season in kimberley, highest rated horses run etc etc etc

the stargglers can go back to mielie farming or what ever else their "main job " is.

what about the ruling that every horse in a race should be given the best possible chance of obtaining its best possible placing...then i hear an interview in cape town a while back where the winning horses connections who had about 5 other horses in the same race with different trainers as well say that we asked the jockey if he wanted some cover from the wind by using one of our other horses in the race....gee i didnt know that horseracing was now a team sport....its simple the nhra are controlled by phum and gold circle and we all know who controls these 2 establishments and therefore the nhra are gutsless and besides trying to show their mite by picking on small jocks and trainers once in a while they will continue to be useless until they become independant which will never happen...

The sad thing about the rules is that they were clearly outdated and impractical and the hope was that eventually there would be improvement.
The "new" rules were implemented on the 1/1/13 and indicate clearly that it was limited to an "added word here" and a "deletion there" and is totally inadequate and is the result of a board who fails to be qualified or have an understanding of racing and the reason for the rule or what it is trying to achieve or regulate(the consistency rule remains unenforcible due to it's ambiguity) ............the new rules are quite frankly an exercise in futility!.
If we had appropriate and sensible rules they could then be enforced and create the necessary trust in the industry.

Dave please ask the Stipes or the NHa to explain this incident or the last one involving the Visser yard. This is crazy it just seems to disappear each time. WTF why can't they answer . And come on Pirates we have all that crap about every horse has to go out trying !!! WTF ??? Twice on USO on Saturday morn I heard trainers telling all and sundry that it was a prep run and they were just out for the run. The Village idiots who run the game and make the rules should go back to the villages or the circus tents that they are battling to find . The one by the old Durban drive inn is now a parking lot much like the one in the south of JHB. Clowns

Horses running without passports then the "wrong" horse brought to the course being able to nominate a horse in blatant breach of rules nominating a horse that was and remains in PE with trainer Greef nominating a horse on a card that Louis Goosen had also nominated under his name ...the list goes on and on
Give everything but up!
