correction @ Garrick
it was Laff that was doing all the 'booming'.The Good was doing all the discarding to the extent he challenged Laff to take the July bet with him!
I backed this horse along with the masses on its first run.Started odds on and failed to place.
The best confidence on this horse came on Fridays edition of First Call, where T Paine told M Procter to have a bet on Champions Day.
Connections predicted his next run will be in the Dailey News 2000.Pomodoro ran 4th there last year and won the Big One,so theres hope.
For me,the best horse from the Woodruff stable is Tellina.

the summer cup is no more than a group 2 at best...wagner merit rating has never been higher than 99 throughout his career ..the latest met and july the minimun rating was in the 100s ...yorker looks like he will be a much better 4yo than a 3yo ....the july thi year might come to quickly for him

It seems Mr soma is getting Wagner ready for the july , softly softly . He raced with steels twice now and off a rating of 100 (trainer is protecting it)he will carry 52kg's in the july . It will be interesting to note if the trainer will be able to get him to peak at the right time .
imo i dont think the july winner ran on saturday, barring maybe Wylie hall ( seems to have lots of improvement still to come and loved every inch of the derby trip ) and Tellina( was stone last early on and was left with toooo much to do at the end ) . The fillies race was a farce imo , i think Juglall was nervous or was told to hold up COTT for as long as possible . She may be a superstar , had they gone a decent gallop she may well have drilled that lot by lengths . I would have loved to have seen Cott win that race off a proper pace .
I am still waiting to see a july winning trial .........imo there is no value at present in the antepost market therefore not worth risking a bet early .
IMO the days of good millers winning the july are long gone .You need a horse that can stay at least a fast run 1800m+
Thats what i'm looking for , the jury is out!!!!

Stewart Ramsay always said that a likelyJuly winner was a 2400 horse with a good turn of foot up with pace or just off. Greys Inn was a good example, so too ElPicha, eyeof tiger
Two horses fit bill Wylie Hall and Tellina if latter is indeed a 2400 horse.
