Boys their is the huge difference between riding the horse out and drop the hands and stop ride. First the computerform don't show the horse is not ride out so the punter make the decision what he see in the computerform. So for example if horse is no ride out and finish 20 length back is very different to horse that finish 10 length back when punter is look for the possible winner no?
Piere is on of the greatest jockey this country ever produce but JAP is right he has terrible habit of not riding out horse to line. This rubbish about punish horse I diss agree, he don't have to use whip, he must ride horse out with hands

Let me say he don't ride out horse that he think can't win/place. To me the form is very important rather show finish 7th 12 l behind than finish 12th 22 length behind

Have you seen how long it takes to pull a horse up? By the time you reach a point in a finish to realise the horse is going nowhere it's already running at its top speed, no amount of pushing can make it go faster. Just because you stop riding doesn't mean the horse can slow quick enough to affect the true form. How come a horse that lost its rider in a race keeps galloping? Because it's bred to run and run it will. My point? Just because you stopped riding doesn't mean the horse stopped running. The only time the "parachute"gets pulled is when something goes amiss and its in the horse and rider's best interests to pull out of a race.
@ loopy I just passed on a message. I think he deserves to have his say and that's what I do. At least both sides of the story get heard.

So now Strydom is God and knows everything, how many times during a winning interview we hear these top boys say going through the 600m they felt the horse won't run a place but dug down deep to come back and win, imagine if they had stopped riding This is the reason why Marcus is king , he tries to the line.

stsp.co.za/tir/race.aspx?raceid=59899
Would Luala have finished 2nd if she was ridden out fully to the line?
IMO yes,and that's the point of this thread. There are plenty punters who have done their dough on this race,on trifectas, qrts, exactas etc.
All I'm saying is that the rules are the same for one and all,
except that they aren't.
There are many more examples like this. The game is hard enough for punters already, they just deserve to be given every chance on every mount.

These type of debates end up like wiping your bum with a hula-hoop....round and round and the sh!t remains.
The issue should be simplified: If a rule is unfair or unreasonable, amend it or scrap it, if not, enforce it!!!
If then applied across the board it should stop a lot of the anger and frustration.

I like how Sherman Brown puts his mounts into the race early and then literally carries over the line when they crying for the winning post!!(tu)
I'm still trying to figure out the ride on Henry Higgins when knocking out all in Pick 6 for a c/over.
Or why the one that won MCallistor is shying away from taking on that fella again at Vaal sand?:S
