Flash, PAGAD's problem with Hassen and Burger King is the fact that they feel that his Burger King franchise was financed with 'ill gotten' gains.... to wit, from gambling which is not allowed in the Islam faith. . . . . and hence they should not condone it by giving him the Halaal rating. Hope this helps

Let's put it this way:

I play the horses (much to the chagrin of most of my family members), but, I don't encourage any of them and do not justify it. As such, I will draw the line that if I win a substantial amount of money (heh! Heh! Bloody hell!), I will not give a cent to any Muslim charitable organization or fellow Muslim.

As mentioned in the other post, in such a situation, I would rather pass ever thinking of owning/running a Halaal franchise (my opinion)!

This is a thorny issue in certain quarters.....so, less said the better!

Bottom line is that Burger King is a fast food joint so its bad for you no matter what they do with the meat. Do you ever see a thin person in a fast food joint?

Thank heavens for common sense...plus gambling as a social ill is linked to alcohol and drugs...hence their stance...one would have thought it obvious but I suppose not on here.

Iam talking about social ills that cause harm and destroy families...does religion do that.

PAGAD cause more harm than good, I forgot they were declared a terrorist organisation by the govt.
