Just popped in to read about the race 7 scandal today
and came across this 'interesting topic'

Does one really know what an animal goes
thro' in a slaughter house,prayers or no prayers?

The animals in the queue smell the blood and hear
the squeals of the ones being slaughtered,
they start to panick and pass stool and urine
and their blood release poisonous toxins 'cos
of the agitation, shock and horror of what is
about to happen to them(natural reaction for a living entity).

Those people who live in ignorance and enjoy meat-eating, ask no
questions and debate none,

those who would like to know the truth, do some research
and most importantly, visit a slaugther house, prayers or not.

The term halaal encompasses more then the issue of what may or may not be eaten.For obvious reasons the dirty pig from which you get bacon is strictly forbidden
So how you earn your living also falls in this discussion of halaal or haraam.
The eating of food bought by money gained by condemned practices(usury ,gambling etc) is not halaal.This is only one of the aspect of what the appeal is probably about.I am no expert ay anything so dint hold me to my word.
But what's the great interest.Is this another Muslim bashing opportunity.
Come on guys.Some of you need to mellow.You make it easy ti hurt peoples feelings.

Thanks Zaeem for the clarity. You are right...people need to mellow out. So please don't refer to the pig as dirty, after all, it is still God's creation, and if anyone choses to eat, so be it.

I would also like to know what the other condemned practices mentioned above might be (fraud, theft, tax evasion etc??), and who monitors all of these to ensure compliance.

Just my opinion, but if Mr Adam's is breaking the Islamic Law with his business dealings, then the muslims must not support his business because they too will be transgressing. So no muslim customers = no need for halaal certification:S

No brainer to me.

What is the problem with the pig?

Let me explain...

I was at the "old flour mill" cape town in january. Went to the food stalls and order some chow, i asked for a coke. I was told

"sir we dont sell any coke products here, we just dont supprt that company"

I replied

"okay BUT i work for coca cola and the money i am using for the sandwich comes from coke."

" mmmm sir no one ever said that before, sir come back, sir do you still want the sandwich, hello sir can you hear me"

Its the same with halaal and this ATTACK on Mr adams. YOU can t make up rules as you go along, i am typing this and eating bacon, does that make my thread DIRTY?

In none of the ME countries do we come across Halaal certification. Religious interpretation amongst all the belief systems devolve upon priests / mullahs / rabbis, etc.

As such, interpretation of Halaal (acceptable) and Haraam (forbidden) is subject to the various schools and sects (Sunni, Shia, Wahhabi, Ismaili, etc) in terms of jurisprudence.

Herein, the practice of Halaal is not a ritual but a requirement that, in taking the life of an animal, the name of the Creator be mentioned; there is nothing sacrilegious about it or some religious anathema / connotation. Also, that the blood releases all the impurities. There are schools of thought which decry the stringent Halaal requirements as being enforced locally.

In the ME Muslims visit and eat at the homes of fellow Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians without raising a storm!

However, when it comes to gambling, living off interest, prostitution and alcohol, that's a different kettle of fish altogether; totally forbidden!

Coming from a background of a 'mixed' belief system where my ancestors were and family members are Christians, Khoisan, Hindus, African, German, Dutch, and whatever else..... my approach is based on mutual respect; a human being first.

Yes, nobody likes to be bashed and stereotyped; white, black or brown, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Jew or heathen!

BIUT in 2013 its impossible to avoid certain things, and as a business man that grows an empire its hard to sit round the boardroom and make changes that impact on profit.

I watched a show about investment and how things work. The Aamish (spelling needs sorting) have trillions and they HAVE TO INVEST, turns out 1 of their investments is Hilton Group and Hilton group on their yearly profit 3% is derived from PORNOGRAPHIC movies in their hotels.

Dilema

Either get a lower yielding investment or shut t f up and collect your dividends every year.

When Al Mufti ran in the Durban July of his year there was also an outcry from a Muslim community as apparently the word "Al Mufti" for a horse may have been offensive. When this particular community discovered who owned the horse the silence was deafening.

I wonder what the Aga Khan, or Khalid ibn Abdullah, or Ahmed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, or Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, or Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, or Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, or Rashid bin Saeed Maktoum, et al, would all say about this Pagad/Burger King nonsense.
