Hi Dev, we agree that it's good for betting to be out early but this way only misleads the early punters as it looks as though the horses have already shortened. Sometimes the "early adjustment" shows a horse shorten from 25/1 to 8/1 . To the man on the street he thinks that the stable (and it isn't only us) has jumped in only for the horses to run accordingly to their first betting.
Can you see how this looks?

Understood. From Saturday onwards I'm hoping this issue will be a thing of the past. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention!

My personal view is that you should open betting at "your" prices.
Saturday's Clairwood betting refers.
You guy's only had 3 races opened since yesterday. I was waiting to back a Marshall horse in the 3rd race and there was no betting open.
When betting did open about half an hour ago.....what do you see.....................
Exelero........opened 7/1.........5/2 and now 16/10
Why was this betting not available earlier

Agree flash , it happens daily that hollywood show huge difference in prices from opening and currently available , their service is exellent but need to sort this out because they put punters under wrong impression .
Example ( betting came out today for CLAIRWOOD SATURDAY about 1 hour ago at most )
Race 1
ADO ANNIE # 14/1-8.33
SIMPLY SENSATIONAL # 33.33- 16/1- 25/1
how the hell does the 2 fav stay firm and AA backed 14 into 8 and SS opened 33 - into 16 - drifts to 25 ( from this morning????????????)
<
Race 2
JAMBOREE opened 25/1- shorten in 10/1 and drift out to 16/1 ??????????? 3 days before meeting .....GIVE ME A BREAK:X
Understand Englander's concern and can only imagine how the Shams and other trainers have to explain the money on their horses when Hollywood price up and the owners have no clue that is actually nothing to do with stable backing but Hollywood price changes without any money on
Hollywood promised previously they will sort it out to the shams , hope something is done now for a change

I agree and understand with everyone's frustrations, particularly the Shams. I suspected this might be the case and it wasn't just me who was getting confused and concerned, which is why I raised (or, as it happens, resurrected!) the subject.
But, let us be a little fair to Dev, he has given an open, detailed and honest answer and seemingly got the issue to be viewed again by Hollywood with the urgency it deserves. He has stated Saturday so let us at least give him until then to have the issue sorted.
If it's not, let's roast him
< (only joking Dev, thanks again for your response and help (tu) )

Why cant HW just make a "side note"(colour code ? ) that the price has been adjusted manually and not due to betting ?? Then everyone will know. or Will this open a larger can of worms ?

Dev, can I follow-up...
appears to me that you were good to your word and changes took place over the weekend, thanks to you and Hwood (better late than never!) for getting this done (tu)
Could you advise an outline as to the system now in operation and whether it is "final" or is it still being worked on to achieve an entirely true picture of the movements that take place in the market from the moment the first prices are put up?

They appear to have stopped their ante-post betting. Most firms do after a while.

I don't think so Ruffian, prices are already available for Clairwood tomorrow
