Still drinking plenty of water after yesterday..
First up is the Jersey Stakes, a Group 3 for three-year-olds run over seven furlongs. A bumper field of 21 have been declared, but bet365 and Skybet offer four places on the race, which makes things slightly easier for punters. Vying for favouritism at the moment are Aidan O'Brien's Gale Force Ten and Richard Fahey's Garswood, who are both best priced at 5/1.

Both look to have solid chances, but don't appeal as exceptional value at the moment. Instead, it looks worth taking chances with a couple of French raiders. Firstly, Mutin is unbeaten in four runs so far, winning a listed race over a mile last time out. Christophe Soumillon has chosen to ride Mutin over The Brothers War, which seems a decent pointer, and Mutin looks worth a bet at 8/1 with bet365.

One who appeals as even better value is Pearl Flute, who is a 16/1 shot with bet365. She won a Group 3 in very good style last time out, and although he carries a penalty for that win, he should improve markedly for better ground. He beat his elders in that contest, which has been won by some very smart animals in the past, including Moonlight Cloud, and he won it in spite of unsuitably soft ground. Qatar had their first Royal winner yesterday, and Pearl Flute looks to be severely underrated as he bids for a second win for Qatar.

Next up is the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, a Group 2 for older fillies and mares. Currently vying for favouritism are Duntle and Chigun, and both look to have good chances. However, preference is for Duntle, who won a Group 1 last September, only to be demoted by the stewards afterwards. Had she won that contest, she would have a 5lb penalty today, so she is effectively 5lbs well in. She won at this meeting last year, and looks worth a decent sized bet today, at best odds of 3/1 with bet365.

The feature race of the day is the Prince of Wales's Stakes, which is run over 1m2f, and only open to older horses. Favourite for the race is Al Kazeem, who is a lightly raced five-year-old, who won his first Group 1 last time out, when beating Camelot, who re-opposes today. However, the value shout in the race looks to be the John Gosden trained The Fugue, who looks to have her optimum conditions today. She can display a blistering turn of foot at times, and she could swoop late to claim the spoils today. She can be backed at a top price of 6/1 with bet365.

One of the toughest races of the week to solve comes up next, with the Royal Hunt Cup featuring 30 runners down Ascot's straight mile. It is important to bet with a firm who are offering five places on the race, as this makes the puzzle slightly easier to solve for punters.

Currently favourite is Stirring Ballad who has been backed in from 20/1 last week, to 11/1 now. The one for money overnight is Field of Dream, who has been tipped up by both Attheraces' Hugh Taylor, and the Racing Post's Tom Segal, and is naturally very popular. One who looks worth a bet in the race is Fury, who is down to a mark of 100, having won off a mark of 104 last season. He has raced a lot in listed and group company, but seems best suited to big field handicaps. He stays a bit further than this, which is always a plus in this race, and everything looks set for a huge run. He looks worth a bet at 16/1 with bet365.

The Queen Mary Stakes is the penultimate race on the card and is for the speediest juvenile fillies, run over five furlongs. Beldale Memory is the favourite, best priced at 9/2 with bet365 and Paddy Power. Rerouted has come in for significant support overnight, having been available at 16/1 when the markets opened, but now only a general 13/2 shot. These two appeal as the likeliest winners, but this could be a race to leave alone.

Rounding off the card is the Sandringham Stakes, a listed handicap for three-year-old fillies. It looks another tough ask, with 28 runners set to go to post. Woodland Aria is the second favourite, but she looks as though she still offers a touch of value at a best price of 8/1 with BetVictor. How connections have managed to get her into this race off a mark of 93 is beyond me, and she could round off the day in style.

Speaking of Fahey, didn't he say this horse in the first at Ascot is the best he has ever had?

"Garswood's a big, raw horse and when he grows up, that will be the turning point for him. I have to say, it could happen in the Jersey Stakes. I couldn't be happier with him at home and, for me, he's the one they all have to beat."
