ABC Influence
11 years 9 months ago
There was alot of discussions on various Threads here e.g. P Lafferty/J Soma/ training of Love Struck, Kimberly Trainers, etc, etc.
Now IMO NOTHING appeared to be done untill these sensitive subjects were put on the ABC Website and then disected by Clanners in minute detail. So it appears to me that we Clanners have a far GREATER influence than we think as Trainers, Owners and the Powers that be do only then take action.
I say keep up the good work and continue rewardless and a big thanks to those that do post any irregularity.

Whether ABC holds any influence or not is irrelevant to me, what is important is that without going overboard clanners continue to highlight "issues" and continue to bring them up at every opportunity. IMHO, too often "issues" are mentioned or moaned about and then people move on and can't be bothered once they have said their bit... if you don't keep pushing, you don't deserve to see change and thus change is far less likely to happen. Keep pushing is my opinion and though I say it somewhat tongue in cheek, I couldn't be more serious... keep bitching! and then bitch some more... and then some more again... etc

It has always been and remains my absolute contention that the powers that be should stop looking at this site as the enemy and start to use it as a platform for dialogue with their client base, there are a few posts here that are uniformed and derogatory but the VAST % of posts/posters are well informed and intelligent with one common objective , the betterment of racing, time for them to step up and start posting and connecting also be big enough to ignore the odd uninformed or uncalled for comment (which is inevitable) and take cognizance of the needs of the punter who are the life blood of the industry in so doing rid themselves of the well earned "us vs them" label they have projected for far too long...the fact that 99% of debates that appear here are spoken about throughout the racing population should surely be proof enough of how powerful a tool it can be, wake up and smell the roses!!!
Give everything but up!

Hi Englander
I agree with ur sentiments and that why I stated 'keep up the good work'.
But also the point to me that is not irrevalent is the fact that ABC is the ONLY platform where the PUNTER can raise íssues 'and be heard' , whether a small, medium or a large Punter.

TT... not sure about this feminine side business, once dressed up for the Rocky Horror Picture Show and can't say I felt particularly comfortable!
FW... always ways and means if you feel strongly enough about something

We certainly have an influence the question is, " is it good or is it bad" ?
