anyway flash i find it very helpful the trainers comments and as englanders says you soon find out who knows the ability limitations of their horses etc..it certainly gives me the added confidence to have a bet on horses and im grateful to the many yards who give information on their runners via the different channels ...

sadly the fact of the matter is that a huge minority "understand"

I really don't want the trainer or anyone else to put his head on a block and tip us winners? All we ask for are relative comments that we can either use or ignore. It would be nice to know that the horse is well has worked well during the week and everything is in order - or no the horse has been out of work for whatever reason and is going to need the run etc. surely that's not too much to ask in trying to give punters the right info to go with their own way of studying for a race. Sorry but in my opinion all trainers should be giving that info to everybody not just a select few. The Shams Van Zyls and a few others always oblige . There is nothing more annoying listening to a post race interview when a trainer says" I know his last run was bad but he has really turned the corner in the last 2 weeks and put up unbelievable work this last week. We really fancied him today" . If only we all were aware of that before the race. Just my opinion.

Here are a few comments to consider from the master himself
Lester Piggott Quotes and Quotations
A good jockey doesn't need orders and a bad jockey couldn't carry them out anyway; so it's best not to give them any.
Lester Piggott
After winning the Derby aged just 18-Why all the fuss? After all, the Derby is just another race.
Lester Piggott (1954)
In a perfect world, I would have Lester ride for me in all the big races, but in none of the Trials.
Vincent O'Brien
Jeremy Tree (trainer): I've got to speak to my old school, Lester, and tell them all I know about racing. What should I tell them?
Lester Piggott: Tell 'em you've got the flu.
Lester relishes every crisp fiver like some rare jewel, for money is his staff of life and he ekes it out as sparingly as a man faced with 50 years of unpensionable retirement.
Bill Rickaby
Never catch a loose horse. You could end up holding the f**king thing all day.
Lester Piggott
On a horse that consistently hung left-The best thing you can do is put a bit of lead in his right ear, to act as a counterbalance ... with a shotgun.
Lester Piggott
On the unsuitability of female jockeys -Their bottoms are the wrong shape.
Lester Piggott The Guinnes Book of Great Jockeys
People ask me why I ride with my bottom in the air. Well, I've got to put it somewhere.

They werent hiding. They were unable to be reached. Get your facts straight. At that point, Laing WAS reached and refused to comment. BIG difference. The Snaiths are always the most open of stables, and want you to win.
