I think, with all due respect, trainers are wayyyyyy too fickle when it comes to jocks. I mean, perhaps he rode a sub par race but perhaps he got him to place 4th in a race where he would never have placed with a regular ride as the horse may have been a little under done and needed it a little???
We will never know.
Brandon is a top jock, especially at Greyville.
Why jock him off after one ride???
If trainers expect loyalty then perhaps they need to show some loyalty too???

I think this is one of the more open Avontuur Fillies Guineas for some time- no Princess Victoria or Ebony Flyer type stand-out. Pity that most of the Gauteng contenders have preferred to stay home.

PeterD, all i can say is wherever Princess of the Sky is, Omaticaya will be in front of her. I am just still wondering why Grant van Niekerk is riding Lanner Falcon.
PS - i saw you at Durbanville racecourse a month or so ago, but next time i will come and introduce myself

Cape Fillies are very weak - so this should be a doddle for the Along Came Polly
Pity about Brandon - one of my favourites

RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited
Justin Snaith, four-handed in his bid to win Saturday’s Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas for the fourth time in the last seven seasons, believes “there is nothing in it” between In The Fast Lane and Highly Decorated.
The pair were first and second in last month’s Choice Carriers Championship but Richard Fourie, on the runner-up that day, has opted for In The Fast Lane who came from some way back.
Snaith said: “The two galloped together last Wednesday. They both went very well but at the end there was nothing between them.”
Sean Cormack, who won the Choice Carriers on In The Fast Lane, rides She’s A Pippa rather than the higher rated Highly Decorated who will now be partnered by Piere Strydom.
Snaith explained: “Highly Decorated has only had the one bad run and Sean was on her that day so it would have been hard to sell the riding arrangement to [owner] Barry Irwin but She’s A Pippa has never put a foot wrong and she is doing very well.”
She’s A Pippa is also part-owned by Irwin’s Team Valor and Muzi Yeni completes the Snaith riding arrangements on Darling Moon.

Badger, the Cape fillies are stronger. Look what For The Lads did in the Gauteng Guineas. There will be no diddling.

She didn't settle in the fillies mile and is way better than that. Furthermore, Alascan Maiden's form muddles everything.

for the lads finished 34 lengths last on saturday and the vet reported her to be not strifding out left front so i thinks its safe to ignore her run...if theres one 3yo middle distance filly i would pick to own if i could it would have to be close the gap she won as she liked ...under 4 lengths covered the first 10 horses in the odessa race so the form could be very suspect and form reversals from that race could be very likely come saturday

Why not?
Don't forget, we also lost a head-bobber with Alexandra Rose to Bad Girl Runs.
