It's a pity there are only three out of province horses and only three out of province trainers who've taken strings down for the summer season. .

Gavin van Zyl has fired Brandon Lerena and Anthony Delpech will take over on Thekwini winner Along Came Polly in the Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Van Zyl said earlier: “I have finished with him after the way he rode No Worries in the Green Point. I don’t know what he thought he was doing going a flat out gallop into the South Easter. Piere Strydom will ride No Worries on Saturday week and I have also booked him for the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate and the J & B Met.”Lerena rode Along Came Polly to win the Thekwini, when she was second in the Golden Slipper and on her last start in the Choice Carriers Championship when she was drawn 11. She and stable companion Mohave Princess (Bernard Fayd’Herbe) are now well drawn at five and two.
Van Zyl has moved his Cape Town string from Mike Stewart’s yard on Noordhoek beach to the Philippi training centre and said: “I wasn’t sure how well I had the beach sussed up and I didn’t want to risk it for the Group races. Philippi puts me more in the picture with standard distances and surfaces.” Richard Fourie, bidding for his third Cape Fillies Guineas win, has switched from Choice Carriers runner-up Highly Decorated to In The Fast Lane who won that race under Sean Cormack.
Cormack won the 2011 Cape Fillies Guineas on Princess Victoria and now partners She’s A Pippa. Strydom has been booked for Highly Decorated and Muzi Yeni is on the fourth Justin Snaith-trained runner, the badly drawn Darling Moon.

If Dynastic Gold, reserve runner in the fillies guineas, gets a run do you think it will be the favourite?

Guys, with all due respect, I think you are all overlooking the obvious choice, and the one they all have to beat, Along Came Polly. She has run against the best, not disgraced herself, and beaten the best. I feel the biggest danger to ACP is the stable companion, Mohave Princess. With the exception of Alascan Maiden and Masked Lady, who took their chances during the KZN winter season and never reached any dizzy heights, the balance are, I feel, merit rated handicappers. Yes, ACP ran 9th to In The Fast Lane last time out, I think you will all agree that was a prep run from an extremely wide draw. Saturday this horse will strip a lot fitter and from a decent draw, will run them down.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

i agree with almost everything you said but also think Pure Power will go close - I think Van Zyl/Bass will take it

PRESS RELEASE
AVONTUUR ESTATE CAPE FILLIES GUINEAS
10 DECEMBER 2013
____________________________________________________________________________________
Whilst most of the sporting action revolved around quality thoroughbred racing on Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas day, the Intercontinental Food fair and special charity initiatives added tremendously to the vibrant atmosphere and sense of mission of all the partners involved on Saturday 7th December 2013.
Proud representatives from eight nationalities promoted their country’s culture at Kenilworth under ideal Summer conditions and did an outstanding job showcasing their traditional cuisine. Each country also entertained the crowds with traditional singing and dancing performances.
A vitally important component of these glamorous, marquee days are the supportive fund-raising links forged with various organisations doing outstanding social work with limited resources. Nominated charities benefitted directly by receiving a percentage of a R100 000 donation from Kenilworth Racing, determined by where their horse finished in the feature race.
After the aptly named In The Fast Lane rocketed through to win the Fillies Guineas, 1st place and a donation of R30 000 went to the Haven Night Shelter an organisation that provides temporary shelter, physical care, social welfare and family re-unification services to adult homeless persons typically described as "street people" or "vagrants" in the Western Cape. The Haven has been helping marginalised people since 1978.
With a low-flying Lanner Falcon as runner-up, Kenilworth Racing donated R20 000 to 2nd placed, Velo Khaya whose Safe Cycling Programme was developed and launched in 2008.
Each year the programme – which accommodates 15 to 45 learners at a time (in Grades 7 to 9) - reaches some 7 500 learners across South Africa, teaching them basic road safety and cycling skills and forms part of the Department of Education's Life Orientation initiative.
Along Came Polly ran into the places, securing a R10 000 donation for 3rd position to Breadline Africa, an internationally registered South African-based charity that aims to break the cycle of poverty – by helping communities help themselves.
The Scalabrini Centre which offers development and welfare programmes to the migrant and local communities of Cape Town received R4000 for 4th place with each of the remaining charities receiving a R3000 donation.
Scion, Michael Taberer, speaking on behalf of the family that owns Avontuur, was heartily encouraged by proceedings. Emphasizing opportunities for continued growth and further progress with their marketing efforts, Avontuur wine estate and thoroughbred stud farm remains committed to sponsoring this prestigious Classic race for high class fillies. And the dramatic finishes to additional top notch sprint races named in honour of visionary founder, Tony Taberer, appropriately captured the exciting spectacle of speedy and valiant racehorses in competition.
