Via africa vs Schiffer

Craig you of all people should know there is a huge difference between oom Dennis and Duncan's methods of prepping and running a first timer. In Japan Via Africa has already won this race !! Aren't they like 100 hrs ahead of us ? I don't think its a question of horses going backwards, I think its more a question of how brilliant is Via Africa ? Will she turn out to be the best sprinting filly this country has ever seen ? IMO so far YES !

Neigh are you telling me that Via Africa was not ready 1st time out? Would have taken her on with Scarlet Lady anytime of the day or night!

Few things i have as a concern

shiffer rested for a year. There must have been a problem.
in debut race shiffer backed off the boards. VIA AFRIKA started 6/1
MJ Byleveld rode VIA AFRIKA on Debut now he is on Shiffer

Strydom and 60KG my only concerns for VIA AFRIKA.

if any horse could cause an upset would be Reflective Image. Southern cross stakes run.

What has VA achieved and what has Schiffer achieved? No race imo

Duncan & Pierre go way back, besides Pierre is top class, win lose or draw this race is not what VA is prepping for so just enjoy the spectacle. I would only worry about her not enjoying the going if it rains.....

Fantastic field for a conditions plate. Very few would look out of place in the Computaform sprint. (tu)

Neigh have you forgotten Val de ra?

Schiffer had knee chips and those were removed. After that she had more problems but has come back well. It is a pity as it would have been great seeing them race through the season in the same races. Anyone who thinks that this is the race Dennis took Schiffer down to the Cape for is not thinking straight. She will improve from this run. If Schiffer is nearly as good as Val de Ra then Via Africa has a problem at the weights.

Craig, all the best with Flyfirstclass on Sunday. He is bumping a smart field, hopefully he comes out the race well.

Fairyinthewoods deserves some serious respect
