The rating is an ABILITY rating so a horse that is only 80% fit can only be expected to run to 80% of its rating.

That is the real frailty of the system! Using races as training gallops is a norm unfortunately.

But is as regular as clockwork Rob. I know you like rating horses... can you explain Silent Force being a MR90 ?

that is also the fault of operators who program "prep races" for features.

That was a sand rating...........only one previous run on grass was poor so in my book the horse was marked "no turf rating"

She was 6 kg out in the weights,, maybe wrong she can only get 6 point penalty

I think the fact that the loose horse was in the race caused a bin result - Silent Force was taken out half the width of the straight to be on the outside rail as Delpech did not want to be near that riderless horse. That was worth the 2.5 lengths he was beaten - I think that form will not stand up

I missed the race - but see that VA got beat. Wonder what would have happened if Schiffer took her place at those weights?

Glad you doing well Ziets but BP just chucked R60k down the tubes. Guaranteed he bankered it in pick 6 as well. Wasn't there only 2 winning tickets for turf last night? You did well between the 2 of you to get 55% plus your new boss caught some when only 200% paid out.

I'm not saying you didn't catch it but I would be interested to knows what it cost you to catch it?
