They are in the process of trying to fit another meeting in. Trying not to race at the same time as other SA tracks if possible. If a meeting is moved and it is not in the right place in the new racecard it costs the operators a fortune because of the huge drop in turnovers.

Hi RF, that is what they are looking at but we already racing at Greyville on Friday 29th and 6th so they not too keen to put another meeting in the middle in our rainy season. We also then race here on the 8th and 10th. Looking at the options now.

The decision to abandon so early is the dumbest decision I have seen in my life, even for them. It has been the pattern, to have rain on some nights, and then boiling sun and humidity the next day. I understand they want plaudits for making a decision early, but really, was any fuck thought even put into the decision.

Anyone who believes that GC did not want to race is wrong. They are losing money by not racing. They also have to stage a number of night race meetings for the international agreements so they do not take cancelling easily. The Good lives very close and said that the golf course is flooded in areas. Mj Odendaal said the same. The meeting has been replaced by a meeting at Scottsville on the 1st December.
