Craig, if the course is flooded, then I'm sorry but the track manager needs to be fired. The local field where the kids play soccer is probably fit to race on at the moment, with this sun.

Thor,I said the golf course is flooded. That is how much rain they had. It is normally a pretty good indicator at Greyville as to whether we will race. It is a very weak sun. Around 24 degrees at the moment and a cool breeze. Why would GC not race if they could?:S

Regardless of the temperature, craig, I didn't realize we couldn't race on anything but rock hard going. And anyway, I didn't say they didn't want to race. I said they made the wrong decision and that's clear for everyone to see. It may very well bucket down tonight and justify their decision, but they could have left the decision for midday today to make, after seeing how the weather panned out.

Thor, I did not see it but anyone who was near Dbn yesterday agreed that we could/would not race today. Besides the 2 I mentioned already, Mike Miller was down there yesterday and said exactly the same. There was not one complaint from any trainer this morning because we were not racing tonight, only because it was not moved to Tuesday or another day. Whether we could race was not an issue.

Titch, that is not on the running surface, That could be filled in and covered wit a rubber mat in 15 mins to let the horses onto and off the course. Royal Durban must go and tell Mike, James and MJ they are liars then. If they could have raced they would have. No one has told me yet why GC would want to cancel if they could have raced?
