First timers

Been meaning to post and ask this for a while but for some reason never got round to it, which is extremely stupid of me as it is very important! I hear a lot of talk about trainers who have their horse's ready to go first time out and others who let the races bring the horses on. So which trainer's fall into these catagories... ready to go first time out? unlikely to win first time out? could go either way? Any trainer, any centre, doesn't matter if they 10 or a 1000 horses, still important. If you have an opinion please just post, I am sure it will be very helpful to many... and if not many, then this "one" would like to know and that should be sufficient! ;) If no-one posts then I will know what an unhelpful bunch we are! >:D<

Joey Ramsden's first timers generally don't win first time out. Let them come on.

Justin Snaith and C. Laird's first timers go for win first time out.

?There is also a 3rd category .....many of the smaller type trainers have very little Idea of what they have pedigree and ability wise and often they send a 1st timer out to have a look see like they do with every horse they train.....the horse then sh1ts in and they are totally bewildered.....and hardly are able to to repeat the performance....I look for these opportunities and they are often my biggest paydays.....;)

?.....the other two are not put together too badly either.......an Alexander horse debut on sand is pretty rare and the newcomer might not know what he has there......::o

I'd differ from Ziets - imo /experience the Magner stable more often than not brings their horses to the track with the view of' 'showing them the track'

Shaun Tarry(Van Niekerk) is on record saying that he does not send his babies/debutantes out fully tuned up - If they are good enough they'll win on pedigree/ability but the trainer likes to show his horses the course - Neither For The Lads or Willow Magic won on debut - He does not hammer his babies to get the first punt in - I would include in quartets etc but to have a strike on one of his horses on debut is going against history
