From Tabonline website:
Pick 6 carryovers galore – be sure to play!
Posted on 24 Dec 2013
The Pick 6 bonanza kicks off at the holiday meeting at Clairwood this Thursday 26 December, when the pool will start with a R500,000 carryover, and continues with a R300,000 carryover at the Fairview meeting in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
The carryover to the Clairwood Pick 6 pool is expected to generate a total net pool of more than R3 million and Friday’s Fairview carryover could see the total pool that day soar above R1.2 million.
The Pick 6 pools at Saturday’s race meetings at Turffontein and Kenilworth will each start with R500,000 in the pot and should result in total net pools of more than R1.5 million at both venues.
And then on Sunday there’s a R750,000 carryover to the Pick 6 pool on the Scottsville (estimated total net pool R2.25 million) followed by a R300,000 carryover to the Pick 6 pool at Fairview on Monday 30 December.
And Pick 6 fans can look forward to another opportunity to win huge at the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate race meeting at Kenilworth on Saturday 1 January. Carryovers totalling R1.5 million have already been allocated to the Pick 6 pool that day and horseplayers can stand by for a mega final pool.

Just my opinion but think the pools have started to shrink on the pools without a carryover.
The public/punters will speak as i'm sure many punters like myself are getting sick and tired of the carryovers
I remember some clanners stating that the bet will be good for people who will study harder but it looks like even the great 1's are not catching the dream bet and as for the dream bet what a lot of nonsense splitting the carryovers onto different meetings.

It was on this very same forum people were lambasted for objecting to the rule changes of the P6
Now I'm amused at the number of clanners complaining. This was bound to happen. Once you give an inch you concede a mile. This bet will be manipulated by people in the know. There is no dream bet. The ordinary mug out there can only dream of landing these dream payouts. I re-iterate that 10% of 1K is better than 0% of 2.5m.

I am surprised more people are not looking at the carry overs as a decent way to make money. The smart play (would need to syndicate) would be banker x 5 fields. Take the % and hope for the best.

Just to show those with no memories of short of it how this topic was discussed when the new bet was launched with the ROCKET.

Then watch all the favourites come home and the payout is 2.5k for a 30k outlay.

Outlay will be much more than 30k. try 8/10x that.

Outlay is big which is why I said syndicate. R10k as % of whatever the full stake is. Rather a 5% winner than a loser. I don't have the money to do it but I was saying I'm surprised bigger punters haven't looked at this.
Another strategy is taking the top 6 in the betting. Banker 1 leg. Cost is R7k. Do this 6 times bantering different leg in each perm. Outlay under R50k.

In terms of the way a Tote licence works, carryovers are not the property of Saftote...............they are merely the trustees of a yet unallocated pool!
I would have thought that good corporate governance would require very clear rules on carryovers and yet we seem to have them allocated on a whim!.......is there a committee?..........is the allocation audited?..........I think punters should be entitled to that info!
