Every punter should be given as much detail about a runner as possible, to ensure he can lay a bet with the most possible chance of a return, but there are many factors which are out of the control of a trainer, which could affect the horses performance. Some horses travel better than others, especially if raiding from Cape Town and arrive in PE Thursday night and then run on Friday, some horses just have an off day, showing no physical signs that he/she is off and unfortunately that day is a race day, horse behaviour can be affected by many different circumstances and if every horse, ran according to it's merit rating and form, we would all be rich. Most astute punters know which yards and horses run to form and I think in most trainers want their horses to win on their merits.
