funny...im no football expert. I just find it easier to find winning bets and more enjoyable. Of course the day i decided to post it goes wrong but i have been winning a few quid on football/nfl and basketball. The other thing that is helping is these games are on at night mostly when everyone is in bed so no disturbance (not that i had much)
Andre and i will still share atr....

Tommy,
nail on the head stuff.....its NOT about winning. i accept i can't win all the time but its about the post mortem after the loss and either finding out some obscure reason for result or no reason at all.

If an expert like you Easy can't win on the nags, what chance do us mere mortals have..
Why don't you take a complete break from punting for a while, looks a bit desperate if your punting on tall men throwing a heavy ball
through a basket

Sarcasm
but ill answer anyway....a friend of mine just left a very high position within the worlds largest exchange. NOT 1 of his high end professional punters bets on HORSE racing.....
cricket
football are the bets of choice and they cater for HUGE turnover. MUST b a reason
then there is famous Harry Findlay back to his roots, gave up racing and focussing on dogs which even that appears more lucrative than horse racing
every where i look and learn it steers me away from racing as a punting medium

a good system?
Many years ago a guy by the name of Peter Upsall based in Durban had punters around SA investing in this .
The 5 bet system of which he would take 25% comm.
Say you were willing to wager R 7750 in total for your stake in the 5 bet system
this would be bet 1 R250
bet 2 R500
bet 3 R1000
bet 4 R 2000
bet 5 R 4000
Peters theory would be that he would place the bets between the 1st and 4th race being maidens etc and easier to win on these races .
After 1 win he would go home and credit your account minus comm .
Only 1 bet per meeting would be placed win or lose .
He believed having 5 bullets in the chamber and backing nothing under evens was a certainty .
This system was excellent and ran for months with punters making good money but alas with so many punters coming on board around south africa Peter got greedy and pulled the plug . I think for the small punter quite a nice system ...agree ?

Disagree
Most maidens are effectively handicaps in south africa. Very very very rarely is a high % of the field un raced and with mist having 3runs and a mark its a handicap all but in name and prize money
