I don't think you have to be arrogant,you need a never say die attitude.There are limitless examples of top sportsmen
that are not arrogant.Messi,Bolt,A P McCoy,Mickleson,Calzaghe to name a few..
I think the arrogant sportsman are just arrogant in their makeup,same in normal people and money with fame goes to their heads.ie Tiger Woods,KP,Mayweather,Mike Tyson,Cantona to name a few.

English cricket is doomed it took a man like him to give them balls.
If not for him they would not have won the ashes or the T Twenty.
He turned mouse's into men and beat Australia at their own game, if not for him England would have forgotten water the Ashes Erin looked like.
